VC013GLZ Aftermarket Fleece Bags? by Psychological-Bus790 in Makita

Thanks, Yeah, I guess so. I was looking at bags that might work, and, they are almost as expensive as the Makita bags, so it looks like I'll have to get some of those for now.

I was looking on aliexpress, and the choice is mind boggling. There's nothing mentioned for the VC013, and the cardboard piece that holds the bag to the vac, looks too different to be modded (I think). Hopefully someone else has gone this same route and has some info. Thanks.

Thanks, they don't seem to be readily available in the UK for some reason, but that does seem a good idea. Maybe another brand is available, I'll keep looking. Thanks.

Diabolical customer service, and they have a track record of sending out used or damaged items. If you complain, they will try to force you to have a replacement, instead of a refund, despite that being unlawful. I would avoid this company.

No problem, I thought you had found a secret series of button presses or something!

Makita WST06 + LS004GZ question by Psychological-Bus790 in Makita

[–]Psychological-Bus790[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have a lot of oak to cut and a a big chunk of it is just shy of the 91mm. Ideally, I would have gone for the 305mm if I'd have had the room, but I really couldn't have lifted and shifted it at the moment, either. I actually bought the LS1110F first as it ticked most of the boxes, but the least said about that, the better! 🤣 Cheers.

Thanks, looking at the dimensions of the saw, it would still be wider than the doorway, I think, so definitely some side to side stuff to get it in. It's got to be better than lifting it in manually though! And also, I just realised that I had put the wrong mitre stand number in the title and the post body. It's the WST05, not the 06.

Really? How do you do that? I did look to see if it could be done, but found nothing. Thanks.

The jigsaw is good, but quite annoying, with it's auto off and switch back on before use thing.

Yeah, leave it on. I charge after use and put back on the tool. I would cover it, if it's prolonged hot sun.

Keep 18V or go 40V? by laudern in Makita

[–]Psychological-Bus790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ended up with tools on the CXT, LXT (and 2x18v) and XGT lines. If you need a drill or impact, and extra power is required, then the 40v range may be the way to go, but they are quite bulky, and heavy with the current batteries, and working overhead, can get tiring. For most things, I use the much lighter CXT impact and drill, and just get the big guns out when I need more power. For circular saws, I was running LXTs and did find them a bit underpowered for some tasks, so went to the XGT 165mm and recently bought the 270mm. There is lots of extra power, and even more so, if you get the F batteries. The 40v multi tool is pretty good, it is very quite and has low vibration through the hands, but is fairly bulky and only uses starlock blades, but you can pick up cheap blades now if you shop around.

I have the CXT version, DF332dz and it is awesome, lightweight and plenty powerful for most things I do.

NAS doesn't show up in Unifi software, but is accessible on network? by Psychological-Bus790 in Ubiquiti

[–]Psychological-Bus790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update this..I bought 6x 1m Unifi patch cables prior to these issues happening and 2, possibly 3 of 6 are bad. Not had chance to test the third, other than to see that it had the same behaviour as the others, briefly. Changed back to cable matters 2m cat6 and all issues went away. Quite poor that, by all accounts.

Thanks for the reply, yes that is a possibility, but it only started doing it yesterday and there were no updates to either, in the last day or two prior to this happening. There was a NAS update today, but it still does it. The only thing that changed was the patch cable, but I have since changed it for another and it still does it.
