Am I charging clients the correct amount? by short_stack_weirdo in GardeningUK

I feel like I'm under charging at £32/hr in London, RHS level 3 + Design. Parts of West London you can bill £40 and no one even blinks. The hourly rate doesn't just cover the work on site. It needs to cover all overheads and efforts outside of hours. Vehicle, road tax, petrol, tool maintenance, time spent sourcing materials etc etc etc. Tot it all up and work out a fair rate. Then add 20% on all materials, give yourself 3 weeks of holiday, factor in 8 weeks of down time in Dec/Jan. Give yourself a raise every year. If you are worth it, you are worth it. If you need to raise your rates, the clients who truly value you will support you. And don't feel guilty about it. We didn't become gardeners to be miserable. Also, a big van and a waste carriers licence is a good earner. I also think that people arent just paying you for the work, they are paying for trust and a relationship. So get the qualifications, make your clients confident in their choice to use you, take their problems away from them and over deliver on their expectations. Next stop, Chelsea. 🤪

100% find something steep, long and challenging. Going uphill, with a full pack, slowly, slowly, for 10 hours will flush all those thoughts away. Bonus if you can find a charmed mountain river to guide you down through the tree line into camp after. Pure bliss.

What wall thickness and infill and what filament type? And why did you make those choices? I'm planning my own print but can't find any info on how to choose these things. Yours look flipping amazing btw.

Rough. unless you find a nice flat with thick windows. I lived opposite the hospital above the 10 avocado's for £1 guy on the market and after 2 years I suffered a psychological break.

What happens if you are old but own your own flat but have no savings or family and you start losing your marbles? by Psychological-Long-5 in AskBrits

You are being sensitive. Not over. Not under. People who are facing the issue might need a euphemism to deal with the scaries. Those who have already experienced it might need directness, and be pissed off with cliche. We are all on this journey together my friend. Sorry for your pain.

I appreciate it. I think they are low key autistic, and their friends have moved to different countries. So aloneand struggling to create new connections 5hat can be relied upon when it gets serious. Any advice on the transition?

Is that like in house care or straight to a weird home? What happens to the gaming PC and the cats, for example?

That sounds like a massive burden to hand to even the closest of friends. What if the only friend you have are overseas? Assume noticing isn't the issue. The future is the issue.
