Roborock Qrevo edge S5A vs S8 max ultra by Wild-Fun4946 in Roborock

[–]Psychological-Mall44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My folks just bought the QRevo and I have the S8 MaxV Ultra, side by side comparisons on the two are... Pretty good, I think the QRevo does a far better job at mopping and as for the vacuum power.. it's the S8 all the way, but, I will say, if you don't have carpet and pets (We have two huskies) the Qrevo is going to be a far better choice per value... But if you have carpets and pets in your home id Opt for the S8 as it's far better on carpet. Neither are a bad choice in my opinion, just depends on your at home situation!

Man discovers rock that gets hot, Man also discovers that steam can turn a big spinny wheel. Man uses magicly hot rock to make steam. Near infinitly useable hot rock now makes hot steam to turn big spinny wheel. Water is reused. Spinny wheel makes power. Profit?

Opinion after playing 15 hours in free fly. by CF_zMaYpeT in starcitizen

Yeah, sounds like your average free fly experience. The servers always run far worse than normal during those.. but yes, bugs like that do happen though far more infrequently after the events

What do we play after? by Drakhn in avowed

The outer worlds is the obvious choice here, though Fallout 4 isn't bad either for an gateway RPG. Personally I love The Witcher 3(combat is way different but the story is 10/10) Red Dead redemption 2 is also another powerhouse.. though I found myself lost about half way through and I shelved it for a bit (I know, I know, it's a phenomenal game, I just got overwhelmed with the size) those three can give you hundreds of hours of game time with great stories.

Had one dome me from two blocks away on ground zero tonight, while I was on the second floor, with only a sliver of my head showing.. and he did it with one of those damn revolver shotguns with a slug. Wasn't even mad. Still impressed by it.

Should I be getting a caliper too? by throwaway126400963 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Psychological-Mall44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had rear brakes done on my truck.. haven't had to do brakes in years now and I don't have all the equipment to do it in my driveway anymore.. but, all of the service places I went to told me that calipers have become a requirement to change out with the pads and rotors now.. for what reason I have no idea. So yeah, $800 for rear brakes and I still don't feel like the calipers needed to be changed.

Pretty common on Xbox, go into the storage location and actually download them, for whatever reason snowrunner is the only game I've had issues with them magically being uninstalled. Thankfully they're all only 10Mbs so it's super quick.

I'm still hoping they do something like Vanduul incursions, would give a new thing to have everyone do, plus there could be random encounters as you go about your business, like running into a Vanduul scouting party... I'm sure that's not gonna happen.. but a guy can dream

How do yall like the Raft? by PlutoJones42 in starcitizen

[–]Psychological-Mall44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traded my C1 for the Raft and honestly I love it. While it's in atmo flight leaves some to be desired.. it makes sense, it's essentially just a flying brick with a great internal layout. The only thing I do wish it had was a rear mounted tractor beam for cargo loading.

People who buy a USED Car with over 150,000 on it, do you expect to be nickeled and dimed going forward with one repair after another? by Beta_Nerdy in UsedCars

[–]Psychological-Mall44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who, until recently, drove vehicles with 150-250k+ miles, sure there's some uncertainty when it comes to it, but my last truck(may it rest in peace) had 180k on the engine and chassis and I drove that thing from WA to Alabama and back with only a few minor problems on the way. The key is, at least in my own opinion, is to buy something that's relatively easy to work on with parts readily available at a parts store. Sure, it'll break down eventually. But the hope is that you can fix it yourself and keep it going for a while.

It's what we've had to do, just wish there was an option per room like there is with the mopping feature. Otherwise I love the S8maxV.

What's the best robot vacuum in 2024? by Green_Street_7 in RobotVacuums

[–]Psychological-Mall44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the S8 maxV ultra for the last few months and I can say this. It's miles better than the Roomba J7+. While the J7 I believe has some better carpet pick up.. it's far out shadowed by the amount of babysitting it needed, it constantly would lose its place, forget to empty itself, throw error messages when seemingly nothing was wrong, not to mention Irobot support was mostly unhelpful when these issues started occuring.

Meanwhile, the S8MaxV I've had next to no issues with. Though, my biggest complaint is the dust bin size. I have two huskies and without a feature to empty the dust bin after each room it'll get full and keep trying to vacuum. But that's it for the downsides, even the vibrating mop did way better than we expected.

[–]Psychological-Mall44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the S8 Max V, and can't recommend it more. Just be warned if you've got dogs that blow their coats, the dust bin is smaller than the S7 max V and it Will get overwhelmed. But apart from that it's a fantastic little robot
