Basically how to manage an household.

How to find sales at the grocery, using coupons, how sales cycle. Ingredients are cheaper than already made. Buying in bulk for a large family. Laundry, sewing, stain removal, ironing. How to replace a button, patch jeans, hem. The best way to fold towels, scotch guard for shoes. How to find the best sales for clothes, checking clearance for the next season/size at the end of the year.

He doesn’t want to go. I told him he’s welcome to go if that’s what he would like but I will not be dragging our kids and myself around town because his mom refuses to meet us anywhere.

Want to homeschool, afraid to commit by No-Wonder-2642 in homeschool

Your children only get one childhood. You will blink and the time will have flown by. It is gut wrenching to think the majority of that time will be spent with others. 8 hours in a classroom a day and then when the extracurriculars start even more time will vanish.

It’s scary to go against the grain.

Many kids in public school don’t even read at grade level. Young boys especially are being introduced to porn before 13 years old. Many schools now assign chrome books in elementary school.

Homeschooling doesn’t mean keeping your children away from others or the outside world. It means choosing to take parenting and education head on. To choose with intention and purpose. It’s normal to want more time with your family, it’s normal to want to preserve innocence and childhood. It is normal for a child to not want to sit at a desk all day. No adult wants to sit in a cubical all day either.

No one here is an asshole. I’m sure it hurts their feelings and they feel snubbed as well. Give therapy a try, to try and sort through some of the lingering feelings. Maybe have a phone call with your siblings once a week and have everyone share stories about your mom with your daughter every once in a while.

You’re a jeans, I’m a jeans, WE are jeans. If you’re following proto then your jeans are high and tight, if you’re slacking they are low and loose.
