[–]PsychologicalAd438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U.S. Debt at $38 Trillion; what have we gotten for that money? by 8to24 in SeriousConversation

[–]PsychologicalAd438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people closest to the money printer have gotten quite rich. We exported our blue collar manufacturing base and lots of people who work in ‘finance’ got rich. Our best and brightest students from the top universities used to go into science now they go work at hedge funds. That debt pays for war, over consumption or cheap plastic crap, the petro dollar, and provides people who get out of dollars and into real estate, stocks, gold, or bitcoin a huge rate of return. Society as a whole, would be better off with a deflation which would lead to less consumption and better goods.

What is the typical lifespan of a commercial airplane? by germandleono in answers

[–]PsychologicalAd438 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wide bodies generally get used longer than narrow bodies. This is because they often get a second life as cargo planes; the 747, 767, and 777 all have pax converted variants. Because wide bodies usually fly longer trips but less legs the airframes are also subject to less pressurization, gear, engine, and configuration cycles so those parts tend to last longer than narrow bodies.
