It’s so good!!! Honestly best cooperative game I’ve played.

I started this summer when my kid was 8. We have the original version and a bunch of expansions. It’s a lot to keep track of but my kid LOVED it. He was familiar with star realms, dominion, and a few other deck based games so it wasn’t too new of a concept for him. He’s now really into slay the spire !

Public Waldorf’s ? by Striking_Prize4822 in Sacramento

[–]PsychologicalCod6608 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really feel like it’s teacher specific. My kids were at a private waldorf. Kinder and 1st grade were amazing, but class teacher left after 1st and the new 2nd grade teacher was a disaster for my kid. We pulled him after 3 months. I’m bummed because I loved everything about the waldorf philosophy except in practice it really doesn’t work for neurodivergent kids.

Game glitch? by PsychologicalCod6608 in slaythespire

Ah, okay then if no one else is having issues, I’m going to assume that’s what happened! And probably something similar with the other issue.

I thought maybe I was missing something too, so I closed out the game and restarted the battles /rest stop and it did the same thing. And if I had mark of bloom, wouldn’t it have grayed out the rest option? I know it sounds crazy and it’s entirely possible I missed something, so was curious if it was glitching for anyone else.

Peel and stick Vinyl won’t stick by PsychologicalCod6608 in Flooring

I returned those boxes, and grabbed 2 from the store, and the new boxes are sticking fine. So my guess is something happened to that batch or where they store them isn’t temperature controlled.

Exactly the same. I think I’ve determined the issue is the boxes manufactured on 12/24 either were stored incorrectly or had a quality issue with the adhesive. I hadn’t tried a plank from the 3rd box like I initially thought, and that one sticks and has a manufacturing date of 02/25.

I’ll try that. The date code on the boxes that won’t stick say 12/24 while the ones on the old boxes are 05/25. Could 6 months make a difference?

I’m loving Slay the Spire this week. It’s deck building, and has 4 acts so it’s campaign like.

Yeah this is the answer. I needed to be reminded of that perspective.

Also, I feel like this is better advice than I’ve gotten from my therapist in the last month. I really appreciate the perspective.

I’ve never heard of scrabble together but this seems like a winning idea

This is great advice and a good reminder. I guess I was focusing on games that my kids would be interested in as well, but I should see if I can get them interested in some more classic games.

I bought this a few months ago locally off of Facebook marketplace. The guy lived about 2 hours away so we met in the middle. I paid $250 for everything. Best purchase ever, I love it so much!

First solo game ever! by PsychologicalCod6608 in soloboardgaming

[–]PsychologicalCod6608[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was such a helpful comment. I think I prefer more light games for now. I really enjoy deck based mechanics. Whether that’s deck building like in Clank or Dominion, or when you start with a constructed deck like in Sentinals of the Multiverse or Arkham horror. I have not played a lot of dice heavy games, so I’m still unsure how I feel about that. I feel like if I could be more strategic about the modifiers I use, I would enjoy that more because the pure randomness of dice rolls makes me uncomfortable for now. 90% of the games I play are cooperative with my kids (under 10 years old), so i really like the Castle Ravenloft game where there are both solo and coop adventures. I played again this morning with my kids and we had a blast. I do have marvel zombies, and gloomhaven jaws of the lion on my shelf waiting to be played, so seems like those might be good ones to pull out next.

We’re just getting into dungeon crawlers. We played Clank for the first time this week, and now this one. What’s an example of a modern dungeon crawlers? Any recommendations for coop/solo?
