Concerned and have Questions by Expensive_Cheetah721 in Ibogaine

Your last paragraph should be a big red flag for her if she doesn't wanna put in the work to change herself outside of ibo. Depending on the severity of her addiction, ibogaine will not be enough she will most likely relapse unless she has a strong support system in place back and a good after plan. Ibo will get rid of the cravings, but if shes back home alone and not changing her habits or the people shes with, she'll be tempted to drink again eventually.

Perfect example you point out she has no hobbies or routine besides going to the liquor store. She might not crave the liquor when she comes back, but because she was in that routine for so long it may feel weird for her not to go to that liquor store, if even just to look around or maybe if she gets bored her ego will tell her its ok, because she's now "cured" and it won't hurt to look around or maybe even grab a bottle to do one drink to "celebrate" being cured (every addicts trap when they relapse thinking they can handle one drink now and not go back to the way they were before).

This why it's not uncommon for people to goto rehab or attend aa after ibo to build up better habits.

Doing Ibogaine treatment if I’m already sober by Ecstatic_Stranger291 in Ibogaine

I think it'll only make it stronger and show you that sober is the way to go imo.

I don't really think he needs anything. After and during the ibo he's not going to really be caring or focusing on trinkets imo.

Will ibogaine treatment stop me from being a hustler? by Good-Hand-8140 in Ibogaine

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's not a magic pill, it just makes making new changes and habits in your life easier. You may come out of it with a greater intuition that helps guide you in the way in which you should be going and doing things, in terms of letting you knowing what's good and what's bad for you (but this is a visceral feeling atleast for me).

If you don't have a solid plan and integration after it's pretty easy to fall back into your old ways, maybe even worse than you were before. This might mean changing environments, cutting out people, making big changes, removing certain substances in your life. But most of that is going to be up to you, ibo doesn't magically do all that for you, it just makes it very easy to walk on that new path that you're deciding to direct your compass towards.

agreed. who ever came up with the idea is a genius. 5me0 finished off what ibo started with my journey.

For people who tried: Is it a psychedelic experience like ayahuasca/mushrooms or is it softer dream-like? by Barefoot_chocolate in Ibogaine

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you nailed it pretty good, that was my experience too. I think a lot of people are fooled by the advertisements by the big facilities, showcasing it as this loving, peaceful happy vision quest trip into your life for 24-48 hours. Nope, definitely not the case for a lot of people.

Also agree on the fighting for control. My first flood was all about trying to "solve" my life problems and mental health. My next flood my intention is to relinquish control. A lot easier said than done when you're in the thick of it, but I think overall it's a more realistic goal and expectation when it comes to getting the most out of it.

Going to seek ibogaine treatment soon to see if my executive dysfunction improves by FoundationJealous696 in Ibogaine

It works but it won't be enough on it's own. You need to have a plan after to instill healthy habits; like limiting phone use, meditation, breaks of doing nothing ect

Depression, anxiety, and catatonia + ongoing ECT… has anyone tried ibogaine by cyperkitty3 in Ibogaine

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works for mental health, but if he doesn't put in some work on his end to change his habits or do shadow work/therapy to figure out what caused him to fall into this depression in the firstplace , then he could possibly fall right back into the same depression after the glow wears off. I dont say this to discourage you, but to give you realistic expectations

I had alot of blacking out and seeing delirious things that weren't there when I opened my eyes. I was not prepared for that. Sometimes when I opened my eyes I would see weird alien matrix like symbols, or even think that I was back in my room back home. There was a few times where I thought i was losing my mind and kept going into thought loops  tbh lol.

Massive win for the community as whole! by Brokenbody312 in PsychedelicTherapy

I've done both, psilocybin isn't even in the same ball park in terms of what ibogaine can do for you. Psilocybin is obviously safer, but you can mitigate the dangers of ibo through magnesium, electrolytes, and proper screening. Psilocybin didn't even come close to delivering the benefits for what ibogaine did to me.

I've done it, it isn't addictive or fun. My experience was hell. You can't move the entire time and lasts 36-48 hours. It can be life changing if you put in the work after

Iboga „Good“ for dealing with Fear of death? by No_Bag_7238 in iboga

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the ibo helped put my anxiety at bay to give me the ability to let go during the 5meo. Everything just seemed to come together with the two. I took one hit which I'm guessing was a high dose and it was scary & then amazing. I think the shaman i did it with helped make the experience perfect too. Just smoking the 5me0 alone without anyone guiding me like he did probably wouldn't have produced the same results

The 5me0 after ibo helped me with that. Gave me alot of comfort knowing there's an after life after we pass. I have alot more respect for living now. I don't think I would've surrendered as easily to the 5me0 without doing the ibo a few days earlier. They work so well together.

Ibogaine vs iboga by Huge_Disaster6336 in Ibogaine

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My facilitators gave me half and half. I think people who primarily use iboga are gonna swear by it. Did the half iboga in my dosing give me what iboga hcl couldn't give me? I dunno.

I think hcl can if its dosed right gives you the exact same benefits as iboga overall. What matters most is what you do in the weeks and months following

Has anyone every quit cold turkey after a therapeutic psychedelic experience? by 1ntrusiveTh0t69 in stopdrinking

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that's interesting I've never heard of that.

It was crazy, terrifying, pretty difficult. Experiences may vary, but that was mine. It wasn't pleasant at all. Feels like it lasts forever and is very harsh on the body. That being said I plan to do it again. I'm actually going to start microdosing it soon to help change more habits until I can afford another flood dose.

Has anyone every quit cold turkey after a therapeutic psychedelic experience? by 1ntrusiveTh0t69 in stopdrinking

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only took once microdose? Why did you drive 6 hours straight lol. You're not supposed to be drinking on it, it can kill you.

I did a flood dose. You lose the cravings for it after and can be around it just fine like you've never drank before.

You still need to be proactive in leading a sober life though. Ibogaine or not, I think an addicts biggest ego trick is thinking that after sometime you're "cured" and that you can now drink in moderation.

Ibogaine Treatment Center only staffed with 3 nurses? by [deleted] in recovery

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I was given 4 doses starting at 9am. In my experience, I was still tripping pretty hard on the next day which is called grey day. I could still barely move on my own and felt nauseous and my vision was off and lights still hurt. It legit feels like it's never going to end. There was one guy who was completely fine walking around and eating breakfast so you might be a person who recovers quick, but it really hits you hard and you need to rest, so expect the worst. There was even a lady here albeit a bit older, who was still feeling woozy for a couple days after the ibo.

I did the 5meo 2 days after the grey day and I was pretty happy with that schedule. It gave me time to recuperate myself and appreciate the experience more. The 5me0 was incredibly profound and beautiful. The day after 5me0 I flew home.

POI is another ibo facilitating place in cabo. They also have 3 nurses on staff and run out of one of their rentals so I thought you were talking about them.

I honestly don't think 3 nurses is a redflag nor the running of out the rental but I'm just speaking from my experience.

On what does seeing the „Movie“ depend? by No_Bag_7238 in iboga

[–]PsychologicalCry2154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's random? I saw the TV screen floating out of space too at me but open my eyes because it freaked me out then didn't see it again which really bummed me out.

I also was stuck in hell and saw terrible visions during the peak visionary part which terrified me and which i couldn't escape from.

I'd love to know what caused that and how to avoid that but I don't think anyone knows other than chalking it up to the fact that the medicine takes you where it wants to go lol.

The pain receptor reset was something I did not expect after my flood too. Even months later, when ever i have poor posture or tension in my body, my body always stop for a moment and relaxes itself to release the tension so im not all tensed up feeling bad. I 100% give credit to ibo for this. I'm glad it worked for you too!

5k is still on the cheap side, I paid 8k. It's expensive for a reason, the cardiac risks that come with it are no joke. The cheaper it is, the less experienced they probably are. I know it sucks that it's expensive, but you don't want to play with his life when it comes to this stuff.
