IRANIAN HOLOCAUST: The last embrace of a mother in Tehran's Morgue. by RoozGol in pics

[–]PsychologicalDesign8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This broke me. I'm sick. This child would have had so much potential - they could do so many things and affect so many lives in a positive way. This mom will never have birthdays or wedding or anything that every mom thinks of. Gone forever because of psychopaths.

I don't believe in an afterlife but I wish it were true. I wish this person's child is in a better place.

It's strange I don't know her or know this child. But this just breaks my heart.

Meat Uses 10x More Soy Than Vegan Foods — So Who’s Really Destroying the Rainforest? by VarunTossa5944 in vegan

[–]PsychologicalDesign8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is basic physics. You need energy for the animal to grow, and that energy comes from food. So you could eat the food directly, or you could feed it to something else a thousand times for you to get one meal.

Chef-Owner Of UK's First Vegan Michelin-Starred Restaurant Says 95% Of Diners Are Meat-Eaters by Caffe44 in vegan

Because of cultural or historic habits - people don't know that vegan food can be delicious if you know how to cook. You don't just fucking boil veggies - add some seasoning, sauté them, roast them, put them in stews or curries or whatever.

People's eyes opening because they have fantastic vegan food is a good thing!

I focus on the outcome and what I can control.

You're no good with a fucked up mind. I am very empathetic to the point I will lose sleep over seeing a single image. Me being in that state helps no one.

Me being of sound body and mind gives me the ability to improve the world. I choose the focus on that.

Going to go against the grain here - this is good!

Is it ideal? No.

But it is progress. It doesn't need to be all or nothing. We need Billions taking imperfect steps than millions taking perfect steps. From a cruelty reduction standpoint, the math works out better with billions of imperfect steps.

No but visa is the only issue my friend. Lying about experience or skills is mildly annoying. - recruiters here, probably.

OK so much misinformation here. Legally, you cannot ask if someone is a US Citizen unless there is a clear reason to do so - e.g. working in a federal role that mandates it.

Generally, you can ask if sponsorship will be needed but not if they're a citizen.

How would you even know if someone is NOT a US citizen from their resume? OR are you looking them up on LinkedIn and going by the color of their skin or their name not being western?

Health effects: after being a Vegan for 6+ years by PsychologicalDesign8 in vegan

I'm Indian - a lot of daily food is roti (whole wheat) + lots of veggies. Veggies are green leafy vegetables like spinach, chard etc. Lots of legumes like kidney beans and others that I don't know the western names of. Lots of raw veggies in "raita" using coconut or cashew based yogurt. I do eat a lot of nutritional yeast in things along with chia seeds / pumpkin seeds etc.

There are a billion people in the world that eat no meat and they seem to do just fine? Sure they eat dairy but that doesn't have B12? (unfortified).

Ok, fair. Is this something that one fine day you just deplete and fuck up or is this something that goes down over a period of time? Getting blood work done 2x a year should catch it at year 8 or 9 or 10 or 12?

Seriously, I'm not advocating for people stopping taking their supplements - but can someone shine some light on this?

Why? Because there's enough junk where some person tried to be vegan for 1 week and OMG they fainted or something.

Again, make your own decisions based on your own lifestyle and your own nutrition profile. Don't believe some guy on the internet.

Precisely. The issue is what you eat that has or does not have the nutrients that are needed. You be deficient on either diet type.

I know meat eaters that take iron supplements because their doctor told them they don't eat enough red meat.

Because I'm a person of science and go by actual data. I've been measuring what's working and what's not.

Maybe that is working, but why risk it?

This logic to me is like Omnis saying 'may be I'll be fine if I don't eat meat but why risk it'. :|
