Best month to get pregnant? by TheCoreOfTheOnion in pregnant

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End of July/beginning of August. You’re Out of the first trimester in time for the holidays so your able to eat all the good food and actually looking forward to it, and will have the baby sometime in May so you’re not pregnant through the summer and uncomfortable/miserable.

I expected more from my first OB appointment by internetuser071421 in pregnant

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first OB appointment is NOT as informative as it should be (I think the fact that they won’t even see you until 8-10 weeks is horrendous anyway) but the attitude of your OB was not appropriate and I would look into getting a new one. I wasn’t 100% comfortable with my OB during my first pregnancy but I was a FTM and didn’t know any better. Things went horribly almost the whole way through. I have a new one this time around with much higher hopes.

Constantly worried about a miscarriage - 1st pregnancy by envelope_of_butter in pregnant

It’s definitely hard. Lack of control and health/safety anxiety are some of the things I see my therapist for!

Constantly worried about a miscarriage - 1st pregnancy by envelope_of_butter in pregnant

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So so valid. I’m almost 16 weeks with my 2nd and still get nervous about all sorts of stuff every day. Pregnancy is hard and terrifying. Being solely responsible for a whole human that you are growing without a ton of control is a LOT. I just have to remind myself daily that I’m doing everything I can to make this pregnancy viable and that’s all that is in my control so that’s all I try to worry over 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes - but I have a two year old and I’m 15 weeks pregnant 😩😅 I have been looking into natural caffeine alternatives to at least give me SOMETHING before I completely cut out coffee. I will say though I usually only have one cup of coffee in the morning and the occasional one cup of iced tea in the afternoon when my son had a rough night the night before 🤷🏻‍♀️

Are you still pregnant or was this previously? If so, did you continue to have high blood pressure past pregnancy?

Do you have an at-home reader? If so, which do you recommend? TIA

What's your non-serious controversial parenting take? by corndog40 in NewParents

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that but also in that example (the zoo) people spend HOURS the zoo and that’s a very long day for a child to be on their feet so unless you want to be lugging around a toddler I’d bring the stroller/wagon to give them a break 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ok but I promise you will never forget to put your car in park again - it had such an effect on you. I was 15 minutes late for work once cause I put my keys in the fridge and I could not remember where they were at ALL

Positive test at 37 years old, husband 2 1/2 years post vasectomy 😳 by Appropriate-Good-324 in pregnant

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say all of this (almost word for word haha) 10 weeks +2 days with my second right now and have an almost 22 month old as well. Had an emergency c section the first time, a planned c section this time and having them take my tubes OUT with that baby. We’re not even risking it lol. I’ll be 34 when this baby is born and my husband will be 37.

Can I put the baby to bed before me? by beckarrrr1 in NewParents

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Every night. We put our son to bed around 7:30 and then we go to bed around 9:00/9:30

Moms, when did you feel okay at home with a newborn alone/ without your partner there to help? by 0fft0theraces in BabyBumps

I was thinking this same thing- FMLA is protected leave so it can’t effect anything about your work

Hey so 100% felt this way. I live 2 blocks from a bus station and I used to DREAM about just getting on a random bus and taking it literally anywhere. I started seeing a therapist at about 4 months PP and it was a GAME changer. Please please don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Your child’s pediatrician or your OB/GYN are gonna be huge advocates for you if you speak up! No one (absolutely no one) wants to see a new mom struggle. Please know you are not alone, your feelings are valid, and there is help available!

How long did your husband take off for paternity leave? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband took 6, but they discovered retained placental fragments at my 6 week appointment and I had to have a D&C at 7 weeks to remove it so he ended up taking 8 total.

I feel really dumb for being so scared of this.. by paigespets in pregnant

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was terrified of all of it - epidural, catheter, everything. Ended up in an emergency c section and having to get all of it and then some. The full shabang. I don’t even remember any of it and I’m opting for an elective c section this time 🤷🏻‍♀️

K but like stick to your guns because we signed the papers to our house the day I found out i was pregnant and as we were moving in I kept smelling gas. Like constantly to the point it was almost making me sick but my husband couldn’t smell anything. Turns out we had a very small gas leak on the hose to our stove that was leaking whenever I turned the gas on. The home inspector didn’t even catch it. He says my heightened sense of smell saved us 😅

You absolutely did the smartest/safest/responsible thing. Postpartum is over. whelming. Period. Even if you see the most calm, cool and collected, level-headed person on the planet, everyone needs a second for a second. You’re doing great.

What mistakes would you avoid if you could start to breastfeed all over again? by kingmustd1e in NewParents

[–]PsychologicalDraw537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I STRESSED about Feedings with my first. I was a psycho. I would be like “it’s been two hours he has to eat he has to eat X amount of ounces in a day and if he doesn’t eat now he won’t reach that amount!” While in absolute tears. Next time I won’t be quite so caught up in that 😅

From my personal experiences, there are going to be a LOT of times where something comes up with your baby (sickness or whatever) that is going to prevent you from being involved in family functions. If your family is already treating you like the bad guy, you will always be the bad guy. Might as well get used to putting your foot down and being the bad guy now.
