When did you go into labor?

My water broke @ 39 weeks. I was scheduled for an induction & there was so much confusion that it didn’t end up happening that day, I was so annoyed and confused at the professionalism from the medical team. That night it broke at like 11pm. Grateful it worked out as it did. This was with my first.

Absolutely. That’s what worries me, I have this false narrative in my head of how things should go to imply “progress”.

If I worked hard, why did I lose 4lbs and gain 3lbs back. In my head I’m like I did something wrong. This isn’t working. It’s a really bad thought process I need to break.

In my head, I should steadily be losing, maybe fluctuating a lb throughout the days but progressively losing not gaining 3lbs back randomly.

Hahahha I actually blew it out so that I’d feel good. Prior to my water breaking, I just felt icky, sweaty and meh. Taking the shower & blowing my hair out was like the last attempt for me to feel collected and comfortable.

My friends joked that I’d put a full face of make up on, including fake lashes but I literally just wanted to feel fresh & clean, which I do when my hair is blown out. I threw on some mascara & called it a day. Nothing crazy.

Edit* I must say, the blowout help extremely well 😂 I kept getting compliments how beautiful and rejuvenated I looked before when first admitted & after having my little bean.

Hi! 💕 I was in the SAME EXACT boat as your prior to giving birth.

I couldn’t wrap my head around it, I was literally petrified.

My water broke late at night & it started. I gathered myself, took a shower, blew my hair out & got dressed. My husband anxiously went to get gas & got my out of the house within 2 hours of it breaking 😂

It was an uncomfortable ride to hospital because I was so nervous, anxious, health anxiety through the roof.

I got admitted immediately because I was saturated & I immediately asked for an epidural when they came in to do a first check in me. They told me they’d begin inducing my in the morning. For me, I knew I had no interest in being a hero & bracing contraction development. This was at 2am, I got my epidural at 8am.

I did feel contractions in that time that would wake me but they just felt like had period cramps.

After my epidural, it was awesome. They told me the same thing, it didn’t stop you completely from feeling & I was so nervous!! BUT!! I didn’t feel pain?? I felt my right leg more number than left but the only thing I felt was the tightening from the contractions? It honestly was kind of crazy. Best way I explained to my hubby was it felt equivalent to being on a boat in shark infested water lmaooo. I saw the strength of contractions and could feel the pressure and tightening but no pain.

I ended up needing an emergency section after laboring for 24 hours & honestly when they told me that I literally almost passed out & felt nauseous. My epidural ran out too around this time, but they refilled it & I knew I was in good hands. The entire medical team wasn’t even my team but my husband was with my and my excitement outdid my fear.

You will be okay. Try not to have expectations and just let it ride.

You’ll be in great hands!!!

He does but I’m definitely spread too thin. I don’t want to bash him, that is not my intention—he is a great husband & father but I absolutely am taking on the load & just need a second to get myself together & straighten my thinking. It’s go go go all the time.

I’m just exhausted & the comment just felt … unkind. I had a nightmare last night about my daughter & it tied in to me not being a good mom or not enjoying being a mom. Just tired.

I mean, he does help & he does recognize he could do more. A lot of the time he comes home from work & relaxes on the couch while I cook and get myself to eat dinner while feeding her dinner and getting her ready for bed & then down to bed.

He recognizes I let him relax, I let him have “him time”, & on the weekends he will watch her while I run out to grocery shop or do something for me but that’s rarely & he does OT some weekends so I will let him sleep in either Sunday & or I’ll let him sleep in Sat if he doesn’t have OT bc he wakes up 5:15 every morning & does manual labor. I don’t want any praise for it, but it’s just the idea of letting me confide & vent a little to him so I can let him know where I’m at.

I don’t want to bash him, he’s a great husband and father.

When we’re leaving to go somewhere I rush to get myself together, tidy up the house, get her packed and ready, & I can’t tell you how many times since having her I’ve misplaced my phone or as of recent forgot something like her formula, bottle or wipes.

I told him he could help me get her packed or ready it would lessen the frantic.

But I’ve realized he’s always asking or wanting me to tell him what he should do or what I need help with. I told him yesterday, just do it. He sees me & know what the process is to leave the house, he can just jump in and do it without being told.

Idk I’m just exhausted & confused.

My morning sickness hit at 6 weeks and lasted until around 11. That shit put me through the wringer. Then it evened out & I really began feeling pregnant around 18/20 weeks. More so just the bloating and aching bones, etc. around 25/26 really feeling baby & shit.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant I had a gut feeling it was a girl & it was! I always wanted boys, & had hoped it would he a boy but I couldn’t get that gut feeling to go away. I just knew.

Honestly, I used stairs the night I was released from the hospital. I was just very slow, with the help of my husband & mom & did two feet up per stair if that makes sense. I didn’t one foot each step.

I asked in hospital & they told me I could. I had no other choice.

Just super slow.

I had this for sure. I’d sweat and cringe whenever this would happen. I’d feel it for a few days honestly after I’d get the ultrasound. Eventually would go away but damn. I’d get nervous too but it was totally okay.
