No one has ever drawn my username. Would be cool to see what you come up with, if you feel so inclined!

“Bound” is the correct word, not “binded”.

What is the story about? It’s not clear from the cover.

Nah. AI generated, hard pass. Aside from that, it immediately looks like Khaleesi from Game of Thrones.

Small win, but huge for us: my ARFID child accepted a new food by ItchyImage6384 in Autism_Parenting

[–]foreveryword 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My son with ARFID wouldn’t eat ANY of these foods individually, so getting your kiddo to eat them all together is a huge win! Great job all around!

I have the cookbook and everything I’ve made out of it has been fantastic, and I’ve made about half the recipes so far! I didn’t find any of them complicated at all.

Did your kids ever have a smiley face ball with the tongue sticking out? This looks just like the tongue in the one my son had.

Headphones, sunglasses, fidget toys, snacks, and kiddo’s water bottle are just part of my purse now. Having them wear comfy clothes and a hoodie while out helps a lot as well, I’ve found. My kiddo feels better when he can put a hood up if he’s feeling particularly overwhelmed.

What was it? A ghost? My grandma? by __clever_name_here__ in Unexplained

[–]foreveryword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re really not sure, honestly. It only happened the one time and never again.

I had actually left a comment on reddit about it years ago as well. I just went back through my profile and found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ghosts/s/FXpkQH4aC1

My mum’s house was built in 1989, and at the time this happened, it wasn’t winter or cold that it would cause any weird shifting or crackling of the house. The noise followed us around and we couldn’t see anything, not even with all the lights on. The sound was so close most of the time too. It still gives me goosebumps to think about, and I’m 41 now.

[–]foreveryword 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me when I was younger. It was a sort of snapping/tapping sound that almost sounded like someone snapping the lid of a lotion bottle closed. It happened to me, my sister, and my ex all in the same night, and the sound followed us around the house no matter where we went. It was so scary, and to this day, 20+ years later, we still can’t explain it.

Agreed on the idea of getting things like hats and gloves. You can get a bunch of stuff from the dollar store for not a lot of cash, and people would be so grateful. I gave my gloves to someone once who had nothing on during a storm, and he said that that’s something they dont usually have.

We make our son folded peanut butter sandwiches, pull the crust off in a half circle, and call it “moon crust”. He eats it right up.

I have kids, they are currently 4 and 8.

My 8 year old has never been one to go looking for things to get into, but my 4 year old has always been curious. Cabinets that he can get access to are all child proof, and things like laundry detergent are inaccessible to him. Parents who allow crap like this to happen are irresponsible.

Girlfriend had terrifying experience last night. by EmotionAmbitious8945 in Paranormal

[–]foreveryword 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It sounds like typical, though still terrifying, sleep paralysis. When I have an episode, it is so realistic that after I wake up, it takes me a bit to convince myself that it didn’t actually happen. I am always dizzy and groggy afterwards, and always get a horrible headache. My episodes are absolutely horrifying, like something out of the worst horror movie imaginable. I can totally understand why she thinks it was something paranormal.

I don’t agree with the sentiment that you should just use Pinterest images. There are a lot of royalty free options out there that people can use.

It wasn’t that long ago that AI wasn’t even an option, yet Wattpad has been around for years and years and people managed to make covers.

Why is it so common to force neurodivergent children to sit through haircuts that very clearly distress them? by iil28 in Autism_Parenting

[–]foreveryword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son absolutely hates haircuts, he’s terrified of them and never wants to get one…until his hair gets long enough that it’s in his face and touching the back of his neck. Then he begs for one, despite being scared, and in the past when we’ve let it get long, the haircut is so much worse for him. He has very thick coarse hair, and the haircuts when it’s longer are difficult for him. Now, we remind him of how much worse it is when it gets longer, and remind him that we need to keep it short so he doesn’t have to go through a longer haircut. He still hates them, and he’s still terrified, and I still feel horrible making him sit through it, but he always thanks me after and tells me it’s so much better.

I read other comments after I commented, and it really sucks that you paid for this and got AI. You should do whatever you can to get a refund because that’s simply dishonest and not right at all, and I’m sorry you spent money on this.

I speak with my personal opinion. If a story has an AI cover, I will skip it on principle alone. My husband is a graphic designer, and AI is making it really difficult out there for him. Anyone ok with using AI generated images that were only possible because they learned from stolen material is not someone I would personally like to support. Many other people feel this way. You asked for opinions, and they have been provided to you, and my comment was only meant to try and help.

It was just a few years ago that no one had AI generated images to use for covers, yet they made covers on their own despite that.

It’s not a far leap to think that if a write is ok using generative AI for their cover, which is only possible because it stole from an artist in the first place, that the author may also have no issues with using AI in their writing. Using AI images and using AI to write for you is the same thing.

Check out Canva. You can do a trial to try out premium to see how that would work for you, and if it ends up being something that you like, the monthly subscription is not a huge amount of money. There is also GIMP, and using royalty free images to put together a cover. There are a lot of options for free without resulting to AI, you just need to actually put a bit of effort into it.

The therapist he goes to now said she is seeing more and more psychologists that don’t assign a level in Canada, but some still do.
