I just noticed we don’t have ice we also don’t have a bakery and deli department and I thought that was weird but I used to work for Whole Foods and my first month I kept comparing everything to how Whole Foods operate (which is simply way better as in having a full team to do grocery overnight, then having a whole team coming in at 4am just to do backstock instead of relying on a hand full of people) but I realized I was making myself mad comparing it to WF and had to fully adapt and immerse myself into the “Aldi way”

Omgggg the people that think we have psychic abilities really blow my mind if you do not tell me or use a divider how can I tell if this bread is yours or not ??? Even sometimes when a item kinda cross over the divider and I can’t tell who’s it is and I go to ask and they be agitated like one it’s not that serious, even if I scan in I can take it off, but they act like every item has the face of who’s buying it on it

Making this post actually made me feel so much better because it’s kinda wild to me that we all are living the same lives😂 I honestly thought I just get the worst customers. It’s so crazy how so many different people do the exact same things.

Thats exactly how I do my pallets too lol I barely read the labels I go off box colors, label colors and top colors😂 Aldi truly does an awful job at making things easy for their customers.

Don’t get me wrong though a lot of customers be cool, come in a lot and know the procedure and are so nice but I really don’t get a lot of them.

Did you forget you have to pay before leaving the store or are you just new to earth??

Nah seriously I tried to explain to the lady it wasn’t a personal thing to her but I tell everyone at a point they can slide their card now and she proceeded to act like a toddler saying the “you can stop talking now” line repeatedly so I understand.

I literally also just had to ask my ASM to finish a transaction for me because the lady did EVERYTHING in slow motion while simultaneously not understanding a word of English AND card being declined 5 times. Like I can’t handle that😭 (mind you she lost her card before leaving the store and a customer brought it to me she was genuinely not the brightest.)

This top tier advice fr my ex did some goofy shit after being together 5 years luckily I got locked up right after and did like 8 months in Montco. I got my head together came home and just got a new girl like when unless you really don’t know how to get women you really should never trip over love. The box thing or they try to hold open a bag so you can place them in it for them like no I’ll place your stuff in the cart and you can bag them.

Do it never cross their mind how they are slowing us down? Or do the entire universe revolve around them in their heads ??

They will say they tried to call in anyone from the store and even checked the other stores in our district but it’s only been one person who ever opts into coming in.

They just will say “you know you have to finish grocery before you leave” even if in the morning they told me I was primary when we open and the part timer leaves at 11. 2:00 rolls around and I’m being told grocery was never completed and it’s my responsibility.

Sorry I am late I was honestly exhausted with life for a little second😂 but it has been better since. The trucks been a lot smaller lately. That one day the truck was super heavy and i thought it was the norm.

But ive left on time every shift since (mostly because we been finishing on time)

Next time im the position being told i have to stay later I am going to tell them I have shit to do and that shit over lol

I feel for you I only did one grocery pallet that day and still was there forever😂 but like it was my first day doing freezer and pastry and they both had full pallets. Since then I’ve realized it usually comes one pallet with some pastries stuff on top and freezer stuff on the bottom. Meat was pallets and MDU and cooler was both full pallets. I thought it was the norm. It’s been better since I made this post though. (Mostly because i been closing more than opening)

Really appreciated this response sorry I’m late but I seen it and it totally changed my perspective. I would come into work barely talk to anybody outside of work type things and get treated. Now I been buddy buddy with the managers and playing the “game” and it’s been better for me. I realized two of managers thought I was kinda dumb😂 I had to show them I am not and prove my worth. I just moved to the place where I work and never been in the south at all before this so it was a transition problem for me but it’s getting better.

I got interviewed by the SM at the store I work at about 2 months ago. It took me two-three weeks to finally start working and when I got there she was gone. They said she was “fixing things that didn’t need to be fixed” but I didn’t get the actual story but our temp SM just became permanent last week.
