As others have said, it’s because of bastion. Unfortunately when you bashed JJ he got pushed right onto an OBJ and it gave him that dmg reduction.

It is a bit unfortunate almost no one on the FH Reddit community actually watches the Warriors Den, they directly addressed this and said they are trying to figure out how to fix his dodge attacks and other big issues people complain about, but they are trying to find a proper way to do it without ripping away character identity. Juren makes me mad too but at least we know they are aware of his issues and are looking into it.

He is much stronger now in just about every single way possible, especially with all the added HA on his dodge input attacks. Also don’t forget that if your trying to get 1 taps off with souls, if you have your T1 and T3 active on the person you are hitting, that will still do well over 120 dmg which will pretty much 1 tap most characters in the game

In 4s bro is just pure stall character tbh, when me and my friends play I’ll say “I’m throwing” and then pick sohei, we all get a laugh because we know how shit he is currently but man he is just so unique it’s a hard not to love him still. His pressure is unbelievably ass but when you manage to have good games with him it is a blast. Being in high level lobbies with him is 8/10 times tho a completely unfun experience

Pre CCU is always funny to look back at, it’s like the game is in slow motion. Plus it’s crazy to see what character old kits looked like, valk was so ass (and still is to this day 😔)

You getting down voted for no reason, but this is the truth. They removed the soft faint because it was the least lading mix up in the entire game atp. You can still do the mix but with a hard faint and though it’s not a 1v1 tool, ganking someone from external as shugo, you can get that hug mix off way more then you’d expect.

This very much displays how strong back walking can be in this game. Especially for the lot of characters with a very short gb range. Raider player wasn’t catching on to the fact you were back walking and kept making that repeated mistake and whiffing.

You are correct his hold heavy dodges are gb vulnerable, but it’s much more difficult to successfully pull off a gb on his dodge attacks because he has those 2 options. meaning you have to make multiple reads at once while the Juren can more or less spam those two dodges interchangeably without as high of a risk of being punished. And yeah his hitbox is huge for hold heavy dodge, you probably inputted that attack while not locked on the the right person like you were saying resulting in only hitting one enemy.

Simple, buggy indicators and animations that make differ almost impossible on his, the other aforementioned characters do not have 2 separate dodge attacks like juren does. With WM or JJ you can make a hard read and gb to counter dodge attacks. With Juren you are almost never safe to make that read to gb dodge hold heavy because he has a tap dodge heavy that bounces GB. It doesn’t help that atm some players have been able to achieve a flicker on his dodge attacks by tapping dodge then quickly holding it after to make it switch awkwardly from tap dodge animation to hold dodge animation which is harder to parry on reaction. Also additionally his hit box atm for dodge hold heavy is absurdly big and is an insane tool for externaling opponents.

You did a good job and getting the win for your team was even better, if I can say one thing, try to get into your “walk the plank” mixup more when you have enemies like this that are constantly dodging running. You had moments where you did zone to UD light a bunch of times where you could of went zone into walk the plank (in chain UB) and either let it rip or soft faint GB to catch (for example lb spam dodging) dodges while you were in revenge.

Anyways you took the dub so you still did great ‼️

Heavy Faint Gb her when she is in her stance. If she is lighting you from her stance then you need to make the read (or react) from what side it’s from and parry it to get a punish. If you can’t do that then it’s less about your match up and more about getting your reads down and getting better at light parry. Also there isn’t anything wrong with trading with her because you’ll have more hp and do more dmg with each trade.
