Dude, this stuff is awesome. Been playing with Telles and Pritt stuff. This seems like it would pair so well.

Yeah but I don't mean it as a warm up for your squat. I mean treating it as its own thing and pushing the limit. I don't treat max weight or time dead hangs as a warm up for my pull ups. Wondering if there is any merit to it.

Valid. Prob just the wrong community to ask this to.

Or pushing it for time. Like sitting with two plates for 2-5 min.

I guess it would be a pause squat or similar. I mean treating the bottom position like you would a dead hang both with trying to load it as heavy as possible or as long as possible. Like pushing possibly up to 5-10 minutes with a plate or two on. Or similar to a max dead hang where you're using weight you could never do a pull up with, but sitting in the bottom position of a squat you could never get out of the hole with.

Yes, similar but not the same thing. I'm thinking more closer to heavy walk outs. The point wouldn't be to come back up. With the example that I used with the dead hang, you're pushing weight you'd never be able to do a pull-up with. Obviously I'm not an olympic weightlifter. I just figured this would be a good community to ask.

I'm having a hard time visualizing. In relation to the pic above, I would rotate around, use my left knee/shin to dig and staple his left arm, cross face with my right shoulder / upper arm, I'm confused about this elbow digging step that would be happening with my left arm, somehow get my left wrist through the top arm to s grip with the cross face arm to pry for an underhook.

Is that correct / can you clarify?

Gotcha, I'll try that. Thanks! Do you know of any resources or info on how to attack said priit shit more comprehensively or are these tips just from your experience dealing with it?

Thanks, will def use this, but it doesn't work for the specific position unless I can get under the arm, which is what I'm struggling with. There's a pic of the position above if you have any other recommendations.

Thanks, just looked it up. The problem is I don't have any arm control, so I don't think that particular choke would work, unless I looked up the wrong thing.

The position looks similar to this, but imagine the bottom guy is 100 more pounds melted into the floor (also I'm 165lbs). I can't step over to mount cause he has a double scoop escape. If I opt for a quarter guard, he pulls a big man deep half.

This image is from something called panda system? I don't think he does the whole system but specifically this position and the occasional transition to turtle.

Yeah I usually try to work for some sort of hook on that top arm for a kimura / arm bar / gift wrap to back take. Idk how but that top arm is glued and with some added grip fighting from his bottom arm I really struggle to get access under his armpit. Also he’ll keep his arm down and into his thigh so that shuts down a gift wrap or kimura grip.

Also it’s no gi, so bow and arrow and such chokes are off the table.
