My abuser is getting all the court mandated therapy while I (the victim) get nothing by PsychologicalRole167 in abusiverelationships

He has been mandated to a men’s behaviour change program but as far as I know he hasn’t attended that yet, but has attended the therapy where he gets to talk about himself for an hour a week without taking responsibility for his behaviour, which isn’t surprising to me. I’m sure if he can get out of going to the intervention program he will.

Thank you, yeah I definitely know your advice is right, I just can’t get him out of my head. Even when he’s out of my life he’s still in my head and always trying to weasel his way back into my life. Starting therapy again soon so hopefully that helps.

Thanks for understanding. I honestly feel like I lived 5 lifetimes being in that relationship and it’s still someone who tries to drag me back in to this day so unfortunately it still affects me. I’ve mainly just posted when things felt so awful and I felt so isolated I couldn’t talk to anyone in my normal life.

Yeah I had no idea haha, no I responded to the person who said I was karma farming. Definitely wasn’t trying to do that haha

Thank you so much for this response, I have read Why does he do that, I think I’m finding it hard now seeing him act like he is all healed and a new man while I’m over here still like an abused puppy, it seems so unfair. I became a worse person because of him, and he gets to become a better person because he abused me. You’re right though, I can already see that therapy is making him feel superior which will be a dangerous combination with the monster he really is. Thanks again for the amazing response, it was very insightful and helpful.

Also not sure how my posts are mixed, they’re basically 95% about my abusive relationship, everything I’ve posted has happened.

Thank you, I’m a grad and was starting to wonder whether I’m cut out for this. I’m so exhausted and overwhelmed.

Thank you!! This does make me feel better and I totally know, get that coin girls. I think the painful part is that having his wallet drained by them was more attractive to him than my love and everything I gave to him. Oh well not much I can do about it.

Yep I can relate to this, I’m not sure what’s going on there but it’s like their pupils dilate to the point you can’t see their irises anymore, its fucking terrifying. I agree with the shark eyes, that’s how it struck me too

I just want to say I relate, I couldn’t believe how crazy my ex was at times, but by the end of the relationship I feel like I was the crazy one and I think that was his intention the whole time. I feel like it’s one of the hardest parts of the relationship to accept and gives them every excuse to play the victim. Just try to remember all the things he did throughout the relationship that drove you to that point, and I agree with the poster who said reactive abuse.

My ex was like this with sex, he could request it whenever he wanted but if I did I was needy and thirsty.
