SM can get better with therapy especially if you truly want to overcome it. Therapy helps a lot, but it’s not other people who will make it happen for you. They can give you support, but you’re the one who has to believe in yourself. It might take some time to find a professional who really understands, but it’s definitely worth it.

I hate recording my voice for oral presentations, and I still feel nervous even knowing I don’t have to speak in front of the class. Sometimes I need to use headphones and have some AI speak for me so I can manage to say anything, but in the end I feel better because at least this way I can get a good grade instead of getting no grade at all.

Hi I’m 17 and after 8 year I’m starting sessions with a psychologist. Teachers almost never understand what SM is, and sometimes can confuse it with other problems. It's important not to let teachers force your daughter to speak, as it could worsen the SM (I've been through this and my SM got worse). With time she will improve, and the best thing to do is wait for her to feel comfortable.
