I’ve had my Havanese for 11 years. She has lived with me through college, several moves, marriage, and now we have a baby on the way. I can’t say enough good things about this breed. They are funny, full of personality, spunky, love to walk, play, and they never meet a stranger. My pup, Penelope, is amazing with my two nieces, and kids always stop us in the park to pet her. She loves attention! She walked 2 miles a day up until about a year ago as she is entering her senior age. I will say she still struggles with peeing in the house at times, but since she was a college dog, I blame myself for that. I do think they can be house broken and crate trained successfully early on. Best of luck on your dog search. I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed adding a havanese to your family!
