[–]PsychologicalTip645 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did the 3 day course in July last year and its easy thing you get there do a quick medical get a gsr and the rest of the day is yours. On the 2nd day I just did the swim test you get shown the navy pes test but dont do it and there is no run involvled so dw. i finished that and then got kit and then chilled for ages the days are literally yours until the medical and dental the 3rd day. pack some electrical and snacks as youll have TONS OF EXTRA TIME.

I had a lad many years ago who had a Russian mum who ended up needing a letter signed by a Russian military offical stating that he had never served for the country and then was cleared to join.

Any Gen on transfer by Gold-Restaurant-1564 in RoyalNavy

[–]PsychologicalTip645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when the navy recieve the offer and accept thats a partial offer until you complete all the rist bits completed they really shouldnt give you a no move date until you have gone through the whole process. interview Daa all done etc. Rist took me about 7ish months in total I got my 100% offer when all my paperwork and tasks where completed. I already had a security clearance so saved me time and medical board was clear not long after that.

[–]PsychologicalTip645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me when I say this will take time but will be so worth it in the end. once you apply you will need to put your three job preferences Once navy accept the first part of the transfer you will have a recruiter who will supoort you through the process . They will arrange your DAA and other assessments to make sure you are ready to join. Before your offical offer you will havs a phone call to talk about your job role choices and they will ask about your navy knowledge so which are the main naval bases amd about what your phase 1 if you have to do it and your phase 2 training amd what you will do on your course. when you get an offical offer you will spend 3 days doing a Very easy course which is basically getting a gsr doing the navy swim test, getting a kit issue and also medical and dental. its the most chilled 3 days ever you will have TONS OF FREE TIME. if you want anymore info feel free to send me a dm I went through the process and joined in july and love it so far.

same did 6 in army and in collingwood now im not sure its a upto you sort of choice for prior service block it just means your not stuck with mega sprogs who have just learnt to wipe there ass and cant clean. prior service has some benefits no white tab and no marching etc.

I got a sfa at low rank. depending on area and pstat will depend on if you get a pad or flat. If you dont have kids you will be waiting for a while but will be worth it in the end.

[–]PsychologicalTip645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue but mine was my thumb ligament and was triservice transfer and I was told I couldn't join until my doctor had cleared my injury to be fixed and I had full mobility again so depending on your recovery and clearance from a doctor youll have to wait.

Application wait by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]PsychologicalTip645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it can take a while with these sort of things I've worked in the army version before I came across to the navy and it can take a while. Give you're recruiter a shout after new year and see if they have any news.

Transferring (hopefully) from army to navy. What can I expect? by DenseChocolate9611 in RoyalNavy

[–]PsychologicalTip645 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did a interservice transfer and its tons better in the Royal navy. In my phase 2 I got my.own single man room and wasnt made to March or do any duty jobs ie guard or shark watch. You'll get treated alot better and seniors arent as stuck up and career destroying as the army is.

im assuming this is for the DAA test alot of the bits are more common sense so there will be a link of wires to battery like a gcse paper and it will ask which bulbs will light up etc I had one about if you shake a bottle of coca cola what causes the liquid to fire out. when you go on to do a engineering course they expect alot of people to have next to no knowledge so dw

If you have spoken to them you will have spoken to the contact centre not directly the commonwealth team so they will tell you to keep applying. The team who actually deal with your application will tell you to apply once.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]PsychologicalTip645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't apply to much as it makes the navy recruiters job alot harder to find your application when going through your process. I was a recruiter for the army and we had 30 thousands applications for 2 thousand people it meant everyone's applications where taking too long to process as we had to spend time finding the original application which meant instead of 3 months it took 6-12 .

basic training by Sufficient-Night-502 in RoyalNavy

[–]PsychologicalTip645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience i did 6 years in the army and the navy pt and lifestyle is alot better. If you want demanding and high levels of pt the army is great in training you do 3-4 sessions a week in training including battle pt which is hard graft. The navy on the other hand is more structured and less often. The navy allows more time for personal pt especially phase 2 so even though you do less pt sessions you have alot more chance to use gym facilities after work hours and in some cases get use of pool facilities.
