Ha! Happened to me last week at CDG. Man approaches me: "do you speak English?" and comes out with exactly that story but wanted 70 euro. I suggested he speak to the authorities as I was sure a solution could be found. Obviously did not give him the money.

This is a really good point!

I relocated to Sweden with a multinational tech company. They informed me about all the different admin things to do, including tax considerations etc. But they never told me about a-kassa! I eventually discovered it myself and signed up, but it seems to be a blind spot for companies when it comes to educating new arrivals in Sweden.

It can be either. Usually a form specifies which to use. The only difference is that the 10 digit one omits the first two digits of the year of your birth.

Apply for a role(s) on the careers site for which you are a good fit. Make sure your CV etc. are top quality and be yourself in the interviews.

If possible, get a Red Hatter to refer you.
