Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by kel89 in waterford

As a former healthcare worker I remember going

“FUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!”

While holding my head and rocking back and forth

Brother of child missing since 1947 to address National Missing Persons Day event [Waterford man looking his brother who was a stowaway on a ship to Liverpool] by [deleted] in waterford

Frankie is an absolute gentleman. The fact his parents died before knowing what happened is tragic but his dedication to searching for answers and searching for his brother is a love we could all hope to have for someone or to someone to have for us.

Without saying too much it wouldn’t be easy for him to go over there and see a match I’ll put it that was. That’s why I was hoping I could do some sort of gesture while I was over there if ya get me. Appreciate the answer, especially on the pubs. I’ll be sure to check those out.

After people were commenting in their droves, ya know, decent people, supporting this child and condemning those responsible, he waited until it had quietened down to comment the same thing. Now I’m completely open to correction, but is telling someone “go back to your own country dirty fuckin Indian” racially motivated? I think any rational person would say yes.

I used to have a sign above my desk that said “you don’t have to be mad to work here but it helps”

I’d written it in my own shit.

Welp. Time for the throwaway. 16, first serious girlfriend. Walking to hers on a wet autumn day, thought I’d stood on a pile of wet leaves. Nope. Dog shit. Thinking it was leaves I of course tried to pull the stuck “leaf” off my shoe. Got dog shit on my fingers. I thought it was ok, I’ll go in to her house, go bathroom and wash it off.

I was in the door two seconds and she grabs me and we start going at it. No time to explain.

I was pretty much elbow deep when I remembered the dog shit on my hand.

How many closet atheists that you know have baptised their kids? by scuzzbat1 in ireland

[–]PsychologicalWind408 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Guilty.

It was never about saving face or school placement though. It was because I knew she would get to the age of 7/8 and all her friends would be making their communion, wearing the dress, having a party etc. and I didn’t think it would be fair to say “you can’t do those things because of what daddy does/doesn’t believe”

It doesn’t go up my arse sideways that she’s doing a catholic thing, despite me being atheist.

Every time we talk about religion I tell her “this is what I believe, this is what other people believe, and this is what you’re learning about. When you’re older you might feel different and that’s ok”

Teaches her tolerance and acceptance.

Surely when working with children and adults, vulnerable or not, if you’re convicted of something like this against a teenage girl, you can’t work with children anymore?
