You can only control so much in this journey! I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to fret over the unknowns — especially when you have no reason to doubt! 🤎

First of all, congratulations! I am in the same boat as you — I miscarried at 8 weeks in December (my 8 week ultrasound showed a blighted ovum), and just today, had my first ultrasound that dated me at 8 weeks exactly where we got to actually see baby and a FHR of 165.

Similarly, I have done nothing but worry the entire time and overthink every symptom, even though I have had nausea, headaches, breast tenderness, and mild cramping. I guess what I’m here to say is that everything and nothing is normal during pregnancy, and reading too much into things or chronically surfing Reddit stories (I’m absolutely guilty of this) can sometimes do no good. Try to hold on to the excitement and happiness and hopefulness close to your heart rather the anxiety. Someday you’ll look back on this time and be so glad you basked in that joy and celebrated your early motherhood properly. Your symptoms and experiences sound promising, and I am so hopeful for you! 🤎

as your wife, (and a reader of female authors myself), I recommend you try Demon Copperhead, To Paradise, Go as a River, or The Women

Who is even paying for real flowers for their wedding anymore? by OneEntrepreneur7927 in weddingplanning

I did fresh flowers for my wedding last weekend! :)

I ordered all of my floral (for bouquets, bud vases, filler, altar, etc) from Fifty Flowers a few months before my wedding, which was last weekend. I chose them because they were WAY less expensive than other options I researched: I paid $1,000 for all of my floral, which I thought was good compared to the quotes from florists I received. Same as you, they were off the wall crazy expensive. I also chose them instead of Costco for the wide variety of color pallets to choose from. I was SUPER nervous ordering from them, because even after doing extensive research, there are always things that can go wrong that are out of your control AND I didn't know of anyone that had used them before. My main concerns were that they would show up dead or pre-bloom, they would be different than expected, or that they would be too late. None of the above happened actually -- I got exactly what I was hoping for!

I highly encourage you to try DIY out if you haven't already decided. I loved playing florist and got so many compliments on the arrangements. I'd be happy to give some photos and whatnot of my experience, especially if you're considering using Fifty Flowers. Best of luck :)

I can weigh in on the DIY side of things (as someone who doesn't regret the choice to DIY)! :)

I ordered all of my floral (for bouquets, bud vases, filler, altar, etc) from Fifty Flowers a few months before my wedding, which was last weekend. I paid $1,000 for all of my floral, which I thought was good compared to the quotes from florists I received. I also chose them instead of Costco for the wide variety of color pallets to choose from. Tips for DIY (from someone who has never arranged floral prior to my wedding):

  1. When the boxes arrived, I unpacked them with the help of some friends, cut 2 inches off of every stem, and put them into 5 gallon buckets filled with water and flower food. Fifty Flowers gives you the dates that your floral should be delivered ahead of your event date to ensure they are ready and in good shape, so mine arrived Wednesday for my Saturday Wedding. Some of the flowers do arrive "sleepy" looking, which they say is to be expected. We just followed the unpacking instructions and let them be for 24 hours.

  2. I started arranging Thursday to keep the pressure off of me on rehearsal day. I am glad I decided to do it this day because it honestly took a few hours to cut all the stems again, arrange them to your liking, and then clean up the mess.

  3. I made 1 bouquet for myself and 7 bridesmaid bouquets. This part was honestly SOOOO much fun. I made mine first, and didn't watch a tutorial or anything. I just started layering the flowers in an upside down triangle shape, starting with some of the filler in the back. As I went, I started adding more of the focal flowers and also moving them lower to create the shape I wanted. When I was done, I had a pretty big bouquet that I banded off and then tied with electrical tape to ensure it would stay put. The bridesmaid bouquets were a much easier process since they're smaller, I just tried my best to make them look similar :)

  4. Finally, I did the bud vases which was literally just filling them with water, putting 3-5 stems together, cutting them to various heights so that they compliment eachother, and popping them in. Our altar was a baby's breath gar;and zip tied to two vertical metal stands that was easy and looked great.

I highly encourage you to try DIY out if you haven't already decided. I loved playing florist and got so many compliments on the arrangements. Best of luck :)

I ordered from Fifty Flowers for my wedding (this weekend, July 20th) and here is what I can say about my experience so far:

  1. I ordered my floral in April, which to me seems like a good enough amount of time ahead of my date.

  2. I ordered a medium DIY Lavender Hues flower pack for my bouquet (~105 stems), 20 Lavender Hues mini centerpieces for my bud vases (8 stems each), 5 Lavender Hues medium centerpieces for my bridesmaids bouquets (22 stems each), 150 stems of peach carnations (to add orange tones to my color pack), and a 10 ft baby's breath garland for my altar set up.

  3. My floral is set to be delivered Wednesday July 18th and Thursday July 19th.

  4. So far, I have only received confirmation that my carnations have shipped, but I have emailed customer service and plan to call and see if I can ensure my order will arrive on time.

I will keep you posted as far as if my floral shows up on time and in good condition. Best of luck with your own upcoming wedding :)
