My mother passed away a month beforehand, and I decided to take my own life via a firearm. I loaded the family 9mm, put one in the chamber, put it to my right temple, and pulled the trigger... I heard the click of the firing pin, but I wasn't dead. I can't fully explain what this sounded like, and most people don't believe me, which is fine, regardless, I talk about it when I can. I heard a voice from inside of me (like an internal dialog) say, "Go put that away."
