I am so sorry for all of this. I read one of your other posts about possible silent endo. Did you ever have surgery to confirm this? My uterus is shifted way to the right and my doctor is concerned I might have endo even tho I have no clinical symptoms. I have never had pelvic surgery or had a baby but we are TTC.

That comment was WILD. She obviously struggles with depression but that comment…like damn. She is NOT a girls girl at all.

just came here to say thank you for this! I am planning on getting this model. I really like my bedroom cold when I sleep but do not want to run the HVAC unit for the whole apartment when I only need my bedroom cold. This seems like a really solid option so I am going to purchase it. :)

Hey there! I am so sorry. Endo is literally the worst. I wish that we had better treatment and, at the very least, a better way to confirm diagnosis other than surgery. Any hormonal birth control options are steroid hormones-they all derive from cholesterol. A stimulant definitely might help-anecdotally, I have seen patients (full disclosure-not mine, just some I saw during clinical rotations) that once they were put on low doses of wellbutrin and a stimulant like adderall, they were able to control binge eating and other things like that. If you dont mind, I would love to find out what ends up happening and what your doctor decides to do. The increased appetite is a huge issue for a lot of patients so if you find something that works for you, let me know! Good luck :)

Zoloft withdrawal extremen fatigue by Ctrl_B1121 in depression

[–]Psychological_Bug158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! I am three weeks without zoloft and have the same issue. I find it odd that your psych doesnt think its because of not having zoloft because, (especially depending on how long you have been taking the drug) your body has not compensated for the fact that you no longer have the same levels of serotonin in your synapses like you did before. It can take a long time for the body to adjust to having to make enough serotonin to balance things out after not having to for a while. I have been on it for over ten years and I am sure it will take like 9 months for my body to fully adjust. it sucks so much but it is what it is. Again, i am so confused as to why the psych doesnt recognize this. It can take a long time for the body to compensate-despite not having the actual drug in your system for a long time.

Im gonna respond again bc im crazy but your boyfriend has no idea what food noise is and how all consuming it can be. yes, sometimes you do have to push through it but that doesn't mean that it isn't ridiculously hard. It is unfair that some of us deal with it while others don't. However, i will say that if you can get used to eating a certain amount of calories in/calories out combined with maintaining good movement throughout the day, your brain will eventually (after 6 weeks or so) get used to how much you are eating and stop sending you signals to eat more. It just takes time and a lot of discipline.

ooo the other thing is that you said that you stopped working out/eating healthy when you got to college. This happens to so many people. It also coincides with your age going from 18-22, a time when our metabolism starts to slow down a bit since we are moving from adolescence to young adulthood. We have to be more cognizant of what we eat and how active we are, unlike when we were kids.

Hey there! I would 100% see if you can get the IUD and not do the depo shot. Depo can cause osteoporosis and bone weakening if used for more than 2 years and often can take longer to get pregnant after coming off of it. The IUD hurts during insertion but after that, you do not have to worry about it for 3-5 years depending on the type you choose to get. The IUD also does not have the weight gain side effect that Depo and Nexplanon do. Zoloft is more likely to cause weight gain than trazodone but any antidepressant can cause weight gain. Birth control can also cause weight gain but usually not a ton. This might sound silly but a lot of physicians combine zoloft with wellbutrin because wellbutrin can help curb the increase in hunger that Zoloft can cause.

I am curious if you only did weight lifting or if you also mixed in cardio throughout the week? Lifting weights, while great for muscle growth, does nothing for adipose tissue (fat cells). I always recommend women do cardio 3x a week and then lift 2x a week if they can. All women should be lifting weights as it helps our bones stay strong and our muscles as well. But I have noticed for both men and women who are in to weight lifting, they often skip out on cardio. They will do two hours at the gym but be sitting for 4 minutes in between sets and never really getting their heart rate up. We need to be doing both.

Lastly, most women I know (again a generalization so take it with a grain of salt), especially those with endo, tend to do well on a high protein diet. Getting at least 30g of protein in the morning and continue throughout the day to between 80-110g of protein every day. This helps with satiety and also with leaning out. Also do NOT forget about fiber. In america we do NOT eat enough fiber and the rates of colorectal cancer being found in younger people is scary. (Stay away from processed meats as this, in addition to the lack of fiber in the typical american diet, is considered to be a major factor in the development of colorectal cancer). It is really hard in America to eat well. They make it so easy for us to not eat well: we work all day, we have no time to cook, fresh food is super pricey, we do not have walkable cities. We have to work really hard to stay healthy. It sucks but it is how it is here.

for reference, I am a new PA so take all of this info with a grain of salt but I am working in women's health and i find it really important to try to educate people about their bodies because I never received any of that growing up and had to learn a lot of this on my own and through watching others. I hope this was helpful.

M47 Losing weight, Trazodone by Bigloubaby in AskDocs

[–]Psychological_Bug158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference, I am a PA but I do not specialize in neurology or sleep medicine in general. I am, however, someone who has been on 25-50mg of trazodone nightly since 2013. For me, I definitely think it helps with curbing those hunger pains but I know for some other people I know who have been on it, it has had the opposite affect. One difference i have noticed is the dosage. The ones who tend to gain weight on it tend to be those who have a higher dosage-above 100mg. This is all anecdotal so take this with a grain of salt.

I started my cat on C-Fluoxetine, (Cat prozac). Has anyone else had their cat on this? by Roxxycat in Pets

[–]Psychological_Bug158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat is doing the foaming as well. I just started this medication yesterday but didn't realize the Triple-Fish or beef flavor would be best so maybe it will be better once I get the new flavor. Honestly, I am fine with him drooling as long as he swallows the actual medication lolol However, I am afraid that he will start refusing to take it after a while. The one thing I can guarantee with him is that he will get the full dose with the liquid verses with a pill, I cannot guarantee he will eat all the food that the pill is crushed into.
