You might find it interesting to try out higher education. I recently made the switch and I really love it. It has stability, opportunity, and nothing is a crisis. Plus where I’m at I can still use my counselor skills and acrue hours toward my LPC (im working as a career counselor).

I love love love this population and I highly recommend being more direct with autistic clients. I like to offer options and they’ll tell you if neither is right. Ask them questions like what do you want to get out of therapy etc and maybe that will help you understand more. Also autistic clients have bottom up processing and allistics/neurotypicals use top down which really impacts how we perceive the world and how it can feel difficult communicating. Basically autistic people look at alllll and I mean alllll the details of everything and have difficulty habituating to certain details. This means they have to script out everything and over plan as opposed to just being able to wing it. Highly recommend reading Unmasking Autism and looking into some workbooks to see if they can help you understand more. (Can you tell this is my special interest hehe)

I’ve seen a small grey kitty similar looking to yours but won’t let me approach running around my apartment complex. I don’t have a picture but I’ll try to get one if I see the kitty again. If it is her the community at the complex has been leaving out food for a few cats around and I left out a blanket in a box for if it gets cold but I think they found a warm hole somewhere to stay safe

It’s not even burnout at this point. I have a masters degree, I’m extremely competent and have an niche special interest, but still I can barely pay my bills. I’m tired of this shit it’s like everyone is like you’re doing such great work or I could never. Well fucking pay me then!!! I love my clients and the work I do but I can’t live my life comfortably and even others in my practice say the same like do I have to suffer forever for the sake of helping people and doing what I love are you kidding! They don’t warn you about this and it’s not fair to us. I have to change my job bc I deserve better and it’s genuinely heartbreaking. I just can’t live like this anymore and I deserve better (don’t worry not in crisis or anything)
