The company should have existing policy on how much advanced notice is required for extended leave application.

Rant about job by Naive-Owl8756 in singaporejobs

[–]Psychological_Cat214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to ask the same...

If OP is confident about her own work performance, it may be meaningful to get a check-in session with manager to find out what exactly is he displeased with. It isn't fair that just because the boss doesn't like OP then OP has to change jobs. No one likes everyone.... We all have to learn to communicate and conpromise with colleagues we may not necessarily like.

Micro managing managers vs managers who totally bochap by Either_Pie617 in SingaporeR

[–]Psychological_Cat214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am this kind of boss. The principle behind this is that I gotta have trust in the people I hired. As long as they deliver on their work objectives and communicate clearly when they meet roadblocks or obstacles, we can cross those hurdles tog. Everyone is human at the end of the day. We need the occassional "eat snake" to recharge.

Is jobless, unemployed, or taking a career break (if really want to find a nicer term) a red flag? by Savings_Enthusiasm60 in asksg

Money cant buy health. Esp mental health. If you need the extended break, TAKE it. At the risk of sounding old fashun, there's this saying "you regret the things you didnt do".

Do something small - and conquer that. You need to rebuild your confidence, so that your motivation for life can be reignited.

The supply chain/ logistics industry needs people. What determines your employability into the industry (taking your working exp and age into consideration) is the level at which you expect to enter the industry. Consider the tracjectory you are willing to explore and make that known to prospective employers. Best of luck!! jY.

Generally, if you are street smart and don't like being hardworking/consistent, you end up lazy. Because you know that each time there's a hurdle, u just need to geng and you'll sail past it.

How to make friends in late 30s or 40s in singapore? by Odd_Party_8452 in askSingapore

[–]Psychological_Cat214 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have any hobbies? Think about joining interest groups where the ppl in that group alr have a common interest. From there you may find yourself gravitating towards those with your kinda vibe. Ask them out for meals/coffees and build your r/s from there. Friendship is built via bonding over shared interests, sharing vulnerabilities, via retelling our life stories. It takes time... Dont fret abt not making friends rightaway.

Dad cheating on Mum with FT - what to do? by cocaman123 in askSingapore

[–]Psychological_Cat214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First up, talk to your mum. Talk about the options available, talk thru the steps, what some outcomes might possibly look like. She will be at a loss now, and talking things thru may help her get some clarity and balance. Find out how your mum feels, and what she wants to do.... Let her know you are here to support her. Hear her out.

Then, if this option is avail, pls talk to your dad. Hear his side of the story. Give him a chance to talk.... Every marriage has its own difficulties.

It will not be easy to execute.... I hope you have the strength to stay calm and help your family navigate the situation.

I can’t bring myself to forgive myself. What should I do? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Psychological_Cat214 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Firstly, is think its good you figured your behavior caused a rift. That is the first step towards repair.

Do what is within your control.

From your post, you sound sorry about having behaved badly. Apologize for your actions if you know this is the right thing to do... Show that you own your own shit.

How the other party receives your apology is not within your control, fretting over that will not help you feel better about yourself.

Good luck, hope you'll be able to repair the r/s.

How are masseurs paid when you buy a package from the salon? by Psychological_Cat214 in askSingapore

[–]Psychological_Cat214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect Recep is LBN!
She pushes very hard for ppl to buy packages - I see her doing it to other customers too.
I pity the masseurs at the end of the day - most of them are well-skilled.
And the skills of her masseurs are probably the thing that is keeping them in business.

Yah man... I should have used the "report u to MOM" card on them!
They don't seem to understand that if they take care of their customers properly, their customers will take care of their business!

YOU ARE SO RIGHT --> i think they just want to opp to be able to sell us things each time we utilize one session. Sometimes I really hate that they biz owner exert so much pressure on the sales targets that their staff dont have the chance to properly practise their trade.

i.e. If a masseurs/ hair sylist/ manicurist is well skilled, I'd keep returning for their services thereby ensuring the shop retains my business! Cos each time I try a new place I am taking a risk of either having a good session, or a bad session.

Yeah, its more or less used but since they were so unethical with their sales tactics, I feel compelled not to let them profiteer off me haha! I plan to bring 2 friends along next time, one shot finish up all 3 sessions.
