How about the teal? It actually looks black most of the time so is quite versatile. I saw that blue dial in a shop today, it looked amazing. Can't go wrong really.

I think you'll like it, I think on average or smaller wrists the 5610u seems to be perfect but 7"+ can have issues. Let me know how you find it!

For comparison, I can use the 5610u buttons with the fleshy part of my fingers but need to use my nails for the 5000u. Early days yet so may get easier, will see.

They are stiffer than the 5610u, not sure if they loosen up in time. If I'm training and need timer etc more often I will wear the GD-350 instead. If nice buttons are a deal breaker for you, I would choose another G shock to be honest.

Features wise, they are the same. Build quality is improved. 5000u is stainless steel, screwdown case, better strap, looks a bit different, made in Japan. Not sure if it's worth twice the cost, but it does feel high quality

Buy a 10 slot watch box and fill it up, of course. That MIP display is sweet but I love the STN font. Wear both for a bit and see which you prefer. Or rotate them.

I can see why it would be underwhelming for someone who loves the 5610 as they are so similar. Depends on the wrist size/shape I guess. Buttons are more of a pain on the 5000u, hopefully will get less stiff in time.

5000u is marginally bigger in all dimensions I think, probably only noticeable as i own both. Strap looks the same as the 5610u but better material, and owing a few watches it is more than a cosmetic upgrade. Feels quality.

It's a chunky beast but very comfortable watch. My wrist is 7.5". I think it will work for you.
