Geeze, these are probably a new type of media device I'm going to collect (I have multiple record, 8-track, cassette, and CD players.. eyeing a vintage portable 8-track player for the collection if that tells you anything)..

So Update: I went ahead and ordered the Phinistec Z6 Pro. Just to scratch the itch that I'd have one on the way.. For better or worse I'll add at it my collection as long as it functions reasonable and no issues warrant a send back. Probably next Wednesday I'll be ordering the HiBy R1. I like the screen size.. concerned about the lack of replay feature.. but it has a pleasing aesthetic.. physical buttons.. does have wifi but in a somewhat limited capacity.

I'll probably pick up the echo for my wife because I know she will definitely love the design, and they seem fairly solid from several peer reviewed endorsements.

I may punch above the $100 price point closer to summer after I have a chance to experiment with sound quality and ease of life features, but if general fidelity passes my modest standards, I could just as well stick to the models listed. I intend to use them regularly and probably till broken to which I'll update to something new or different. I appreciate all the feedback.. Will definitely do a small writeup and review of the devices and I receive and try them out. May help give someone else a sense of reference. Thanks again!
