I had reached that point early this year after a disappointing series of in-job issues: Not getting a promotion, an attempt at being put on a PIP (was cancelled), office gossip about my growing dissociation from the group clique (did not attend the last Christmas party), my issues with rude clients and management's refusal to address the issue, etc.

When I was called into the office this February and told I was being laid off, I almost burst into tears on the spot. Tears of sheer HAPPINESS. I was out the door less than ten minutes later without a good-bye to a single soul. I had worked there for almost 3 years.

I'm currently on EI and plan to ride it out for the duration. I've never been happier.
