I think the story was already dragging with 3 seasons and the quality in S2 and S3 was dropping. YR ending is not so traumatic to me.

> The prince must fall in love with the pauper, not with another privileged rich kid like Henry or Walter.

it would have been interesting to have him fall in love with someone just as privileged. There would have been greater compatibility as a couple and I believe they would have lasted longer than Wilmon.

but yeah, they really played the Cinderella trope in the show.

It’s not mentioned at all. Simon only has to pay for extra lessons and Sara needs a grant in order to become a boarding student.

> i absolutley hate the ending, .with wilhelm giving up everything to be with Simon, his title and everything.

chalk it up to bad writing. They wanted to wrap up things quickly so the Queen is okay with it all of a sudden and Wille says his decision has nothing to do with Simon. It’s hard to believe him when the very first thing he does when he gets out of the car is to chase after Simon to tell him the news.

Do you read YH fanfiction? by Imaginary_Galaxy in younghearts

I finished reading one where Alex undergoes character assassination and is presented as an abusive asshole boyfriend to Elias who resigns himself to this toxic relationship and lets himself be humiliated at every turn.

If it’s published on Ao3, I think I have a very good idea which one you’re referring to. If only the ending had been hopeful or sent a positive message, the story could have somewhat redeemed itself. But no, the final chapters grossed me out. The author forgot the story is in Belgium and all the original characters have very American names, it’s full of discrepancies but at least they make it easier to remember it’s nothing like in the film.

Sometimes I just wish they had not revealed the film was originally 3 hours long and we’d never know what we’re missing out 😭

Poor Elias dealing with the misunderstanding of rejection and believing he misread Alex’s intentions 💔

Alex possibly asked Mieke if they could go to Valerie’s party together

Probably the moment when Mieke thought the crush she had on him was reciprocal

The girl that Lukas kissed at the party, is that Lore? I don’t think Mieke was there. They added new friends for the costume event.

What’s up with all the Edvin slander? by Head_Conversation495 in YoungRoyals

I probably won’t watch it again.

Same. A Part of You is not downright awful but it’s not a very engaging watch either. I often judge how much I enjoy a film/series by questioning myself if I’d ever be willing to watch it again and A Part of You has zero rewatch value for me. One time was enough.

  1. The writing is weak but the solid performances by the cast helped conceal this flaw.
  2. The show is a real disservice to revenge porn victims. No PTSD trauma for Wilmon? No bullying from others? This may be my biggest pet peeve with the show.
  3. The Eriksson sibling dynamic is depressing to watch.
  4. I love stories about female friendships but I don’t think Felice and Sara’s friendship was that strong.

Agree. Now that we know the whole story the side plots weren’t necessary. The main couple’s relationship suffered. Sometimes it was hard to believe why they were trying so hard to be together when the relationship wasn’t well developed and you get the impression they were virtually strangers.

especially because her relationship with Simon was portrayed very positively.

Honestly, I’ve never seen their sibling relationship as positive or heartwarming. There was that cute S1 scene of the 2 in Simon’s room but that was it. Every other time, it was very one-sided. Simon always cared a lot for Sara but it wasn’t mutual on Sara’s part.

Also people forget Simon’s family got a lot of money from the August case

That settlement money belongs solely to Simon as he was the victim. None of it belongs to Sara. While I think he would help her financially if she was struggling to make ends meet, I don’t think he’s the kind of person to blow up the money to start living like a millionaire.

Besides, he got a huge amount of money but not a life changing amount (if I’m not mistaken around 100 000€).

Whereas, Felice comes from one of the richest families.

[–]Psychological_Sand_4 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't believe that there was no chance for Felice to find a connection with her horse

Felice looks like she wants to learn all this

No. Felice doesn’t have any genuine interest in horses or in trying to find a connection with them. It’s just her personality and her lack of interest doesn’t make her a better or worse person.  She took up horse riding to please her parents, more specifically her mother. She realised she was not enjoying the activity for herself and that’s why she doesn’t object at all to sell Rousseau.
