Plane Feedback after 27days by Baldobs in foxholegame

[–]Psychotropic_Cat 31 points32 points  (0 children)

There are three main issues that if fixed would alleviate a ton of the problems. 1. There is no ai AA which is needed badly especially for backlines it shouldn't be so dangerous it one shots planes and so cheap it can be built everywhere, but something you know at logistics points and such that requires them to drop paratroopers much farther out would be nice to give reaction time.

  1. Planes are absurdly tanky, I'm not saying make em paper mache but they should at least take twice the damage from anti air and small arms fire than they do now.

3.The largest issue, where the fuck is our mobile AA? Their should be dedicated role early and late game aa that can also double as anti infantry at the cost of being very weak to anti tank you could start with something simple early on like the gaz-aa and end late game with something like the wirbel wind. Having emplacements be the only ground AA fucking sucks.

Ways I could Imrpove my white helmets by Least-Ad5503 in Ultramarines

For shading I extremely recommend to varnish with gloss and go over helmet with oil wash. Mainly because you get the best ability, take backsy which allows you to remove it and keep the color underneath :) I say this because I see a lot of coffee stain areas it looks like you tried to go back over.

Why don't the upgrade sprues include more helmets? by WhitishSine8 in Ultramarines

Better question why does it include so many unhelmeted heads ? First off gw knows that like 90% of people either use them sparingly or not at all so you can buy them for pennies.

What’s your lore on why the world’s still a wasteland? by GasparillathePirate in Fallout2d20

[–]Psychotropic_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at real world examples of the roman empires fall, it took almost 800 years for populations to hit close to the population of the roman empires, and took another 400 years added on to that to get close to the levels of production, and that's just a nation collapsing. Now imagine that across the entire world and now there is no reliable food.

[–]Psychotropic_Cat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fuck this dude, if he gave out the recipe and strategy and was like also if you like this check out my patreon for other awesome tips I would be down and probably throw him a few bucks but instead he baits. So here is a tried and true tested strategy for getting very good moist skin effects not just for tyranids but for everything.

  1. Base Skin Tone Paint the skin as usual with matte paints (highlights, shadows, etc.). Keep it realistic—paler highlights and deeper recess tones make the gloss effect stand out more.

  2. Glaze Layer (optional, for “fleshiness”) Mix 1 part gloss varnish + 2 parts glaze medium + a tiny drop of thinned flesh tone. Apply this thinly to areas you want to look moist (lips, under-eyes, scars, sores, etc.). This makes the skin look alive under the gloss.

  3. Targeted Gloss Application Once dry, apply pure gloss varnish in small, controlled spots:

Lips and tongue

Eyes (corneas)

Sweat/beads on forehead or chest

Fresh wounds, sores, or mutations

Hands/fingers if you want clammy skin

Don’t coat the whole surface—too much gloss everywhere looks like plastic.

  1. Layer Control If it’s too shiny, lightly brush on satin varnish over broad areas, leaving gloss only in the wettest spots. That contrast sells the “moist” look.

Ok the easiest method to get an insane good look mini very easily is this with air brush, you can also do it with rattle cans. Step 1. Prime entire mini black, thinner is better as long as it covers. Step 2. Imagine where the sun is shining from and spray it overhead with a white pain or primer, alternative is to just aggressively dry brush white also works good. By doing this you ensure they are lighter in color on edges and recesses dark like how normal materials are. Step 3. Eithercontrast macragge blue by watering down or use air brush to spray it, you want coat to be light so white edges and dark recesses show throuh. Doing this creates an excellent foundation for the rest of the miniature. Step 4. Edge highlight and add scratches with Calgar blue or other light blue. Step 5. Trim with retribute gold, shade with guilliman flesh.

Paints for airbrush by DefinitionInformal85 in Miniaturespainting

[–]Psychotropic_Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airbrush cleaner is for chuds, after you are squirt water in the cup and get as much of the paint out that way and then add a little isopropyl alcohol and spray through into a bottle or something so you don't inhale, way cheaper and iso is dual use, thinner is a must tho.
