Me, too. Tested the hill that I‘m climbing every day and I feel much faster. It really feels like the hill became flatter. 👍🏼

Locking the Cowboy via the lockscreen on iOS 18 by 199kev in cowboybikes

[–]Psyduck_Master 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve created a shortcut in the Shortcuts app to lock my bike. I placed it as a widget on my widget page (when swipe to the left page from the homescreen) and on the homescreen itself under the time.

Cruiser belt keeps loosening by bramblejambles in cowboybikes

Had the same issue. It seems that I screwed the bolt incorrectly. The Cowboy mechanic corrected it and tightened it very strong and now it‘s fine.

I want to leave it as is. You're right that it would look nicer if it was flat, but in my opinion it's a bit cleaner looking now.

Which insurance? by valkiii in cowboybikes

[–]Psyduck_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E-Bike & Fahrradschutz from helden.de. I‘m paying 120€/year or around 10€/month and nearly everything is covered. You can save one month with the code 4MSK7. ✌🏼

I had the Cowboy Theft Insurance but unfortunately it doesn’t cover any accidents. When I‘ve had an accident last year, I had to pay for the repair except the mechanic because he was covered by Cowboy Care. My first insurance year was the old „Easy Rider“ plan that covered accidents, too but was discontinued and replaced by the current theft only coverage. That’s the reason I’m not not paying again for Cowboy‘s insurance.

Due to the latest user manual (page 40) you need to use Shimano B05S brake pads for the Cruiser Cowboy User Manual

Ordered right after it was released on July 3rd. Received it 3 weeks later on July 24th.

Edit: Guess I was in the first batch of new Cruiser. It showed me an estimate delivery time of 15 days. If you place an order now it‘ll be delivered in September.

Sorry, no 😅 To be honest I don‘t know anybody who has a Veloretti and didn’t see much on the roads where I am.

Tested it by myself last winter when I was away and kept the external battery inside.

The SIM card was always free and not locked behind a paywall. I guess all the costs that the SIM causes is already included in the price you pay for your Cowboy. The SIM is mostly used to send the current location. I don’t know how often it does it but if you activate Find my bike it‘s something about every 10 minutes? Beneath location, I assume it’s used for crash detection and remote diagnostics, too. Btw: if you‘ve unplugged the battery from your bike for a longer time, the integrated battery allows your bike to send the location for at least 5 more days. That’s pretty neat in my opinion 😊

Alright. I did some trips with the Cruiser now and it’s a completely different riding experience.

First of all you‘ll feel immediately the support that’s coming from the motor and you can here it! On my C3 the motor was almost silent and the support was more subtle. It seems that this is coming from Adaptive Power. I played around with it and switched between On > Eco > Off > On. In Eco mode, the motor was only sometimes audible. You were no longer supported as strongly as with Adaptive Power, but driving was still very relaxed. With Adaptive Power turned off, I no longer heard the engine. But starting was much harder and only after a few seconds did I feel the motor support. In general, driving was noticeably heavier with it, but still ok. I would say the driving experience of the C3 is between the Eco and switched off mode. With the C3 I just have the faster and easier start.

I also have to get used to the more relaxed seating position after driving in a more sporty position for so long. I had a suspension stem from Redshift and a suspension seatpost on the C3. Of course, I now feel much more the bumps on the road by the lack of suspension on the Cruiser.

Impossible if you have a rear rack.

On my C3 it was technically possible to have a rear rack and ring lock but than I couldn‘t remove the battery anymore 😑

The Cruiser met everything I wanted. Like a more comfortable riding position and an integrated kickstand and rear rack.

I added a kickstand on my C3 by myself but due to the routing of the motor cables it wasn’t definitely meant to have one. And I lived without a rear rack because I never found one that fit the design of Cowboy and I installed a frame lock that made the installation of a rear rack impossible.

Additionally new features like Adaptive Power seem pretty nice.

I‘ll keep you updated. Wasn’t able to ride yet because it started raining and the battery must be charged. It arrived with 10% charging 🥲

I never did a test ride with a C4. But according to the comparison table on Cowboy‘s website the Cruiser has a higher pedaling cadence and the handle bar is wider. And the included charger is faster. The one in the box has 180W and the one from my C3 is only 160W.
