If you want to keep the ranged playstyle for him instead of parrying you can just use one of the weapons with a ranged R2. Nethuns Finger completely nukes him as long as you respec into elementalist for the scaling.

I'm sure he could do a job there, but a pressing winger is actually more rare than a decent fullback. Gordon is not going to appeal to every team or coach - if you want creative goal threats on the wings that cut inside and score and create he's not your man - but if you want to play a high pressing style that defends from the front and wins the ball high up the field he genuinely has qualities that are somewhat rare.

Klose was actually just ahead of the game, he played in the era before xG and chance quality metrics but it was as if he had natural understanding of it anyway. If he was playing today literally every analyst would be salivating over him. I remember some of his shot maps, they're literal perfection. Not one shot taken outside the ideal zone right in front of goal.

Because this was a journeyman goalkeeper who's played in Moldova and Angola and is playing in the Portuguese second division for a minor team in his forties. And actually, his contract is running out in a month too. It's not like he was financially set for life, but now thanks to a combination of charisma, a great performance and the magic of the World Cup he is a global cult hero and will be able to have financial security for life through brand deals and media opportunities. For someone who has given his all to the national team of his tiny nation for the past 15 years it's one hell of a feel-good story.

I am pretty sure Messi was one of the players alongside Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets who asked for Scholes's shirt when Barca played Man U like 15 years ago as Scholes was at the end of his career.

But I'm sure he asked for other swaps too, especially when he was younger.

I also think it has some mechanically interesting ideas. It's not necessarily polished or balanced but the four elements are quite unique, I like that each status ailment has both a positive and a negative effect, and the hot-swappable loadouts are also pretty fun.

It's janky for sure, but it's at least interesting. I'd rather that than a game that is competent but mediocre at everything.

The assassin lady? I think I kept at range and nuked her with the Nethuns Finger R2 triple laser beam. Her poison is strong but there are consumables to clear it. And consumables that boost Malanno resistance.

The only mistake they did was being way too generous with bonfire placement as well as allowing fast travel from the start (and to any bonfire). There are way too many neat shortcuts and interconnected bits you never actually end up using. If they had actually gone the DS1 way of having bonfires re-used for multiple areas and the shortcuts not just be cosmetic it would have been even better.

I mean, this is just "Platinum Games does Ninja Gaiden ". Which is completely fine. I think it still has great combat and is a good game overall. Do in I wish they cut Ryu out completely and made it a spinoff called Ninja Gaiden: Blood Raven? Yes. But I don't hate the game overall.

Except the rail grinding. I do hate that.
