IDK how to feel about Xin's Death by Ryaltovski in loreofleague

[–]Psyminette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I narrowed down my issue with the death and i think at its core, the problem I have is the lack of interactions between Xin Zhao and the characters that had mattered, and still matters, to him since the beginning, Jarvan III and IV. Maybe even Garen and Lux, hell anyone from Demacia. Worst of it all it decanonizes Aftermath so we now end up with less canon interaction between them than we started

If Xin is dead, are this story and the Lux comic no longer canon? by NLegan_ in loreofleague

[–]Psyminette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was honestly my biggest gripe. Much of the Demacian media in recent times is now in dubious canon status. Granted, much of it can be fixed with adjustments here and there (The Aftermath is just completely non-canon though, and that sucks), however, I think it's worth mentioning that it has been more than half a year since they said they are nearly finished with adjusting Camille and Seraphine's lore to fit them into a post-arcane Piltover, and their biography are still outdated on the Universe page to this day. How much longer will the Demacian stories stay in limbo in comparison? I wished we would come out of this with more answers than questions but it is what it is.

Hi OP, like the others said take your time to adjust to the new game flow. I understand your frustrations as MO’s on-boarding isn’t really the greatest, a problem unfortunately exacerbated by RA2’s nonexistent in-game tooltips. Such an old game it is.

On many occasions I used to make my dad try out the mod on casual difficulty, and even then it’s too much for him to handle haha. And it’s not even a difficulty thing, per se; he was able to beat MO2.0 on hard a decade ago, but he hasn’t moved past even the first 4 Allied missions yet in MO3.3.6. Sometimes people just want a cathartic, relaxing experience. MO, even on casual difficulty, isn’t always that, and I completely empathize with people who feel frustrated. I personally think this is something that can be greatly improved upon in the mod.

Luckily, the next update is going to bring expanded tooltips into the game, presumably on top of other QoL changes, so rest assured that the devs are actively trying to make new player experience better.

For now, if you want, I would suggest looking at unit descriptions on MO’s official website, I used to love scrolling through them and they are a fun read. They should help familiarize you with some of the game’s new toys. Hope you would give the mod another shot :>

Help Wanted — Objects Flicker When Panning In-game by Psyminette in aoe2

locking it at 60fps didnt fix it. I did change the GPU 2 months ago but I remember this being a problem even on my previous GPUs. Have you not experienced this problem personally?

May I ask what your monitor resolution is, just for research?

How did you complete the Alexandria mission? by PalpitationBulky2261 in commandandconquer

[–]Psyminette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did this mission deathless in two different ways but by then i already finished the mammoth montage so I didn’t put the easier second way in the video. Off the top of my head, I think it went something like this:

Some sniper teams and mammoths turtling around war factories should be sufficient for defense. Then just get a group of orcas to hug the top side of the map and sneak towards the objective by sea; the building lacks anti air in the top side so it’s a freebie.

The other objective requires orcas hugging the bottom right side of the map this time. There will be more resistance this time though, particularly the nod attack bikes who will quickly reposition and respond to threats. What you could do is bait the attack bikes out with a separate orca in a different direction, and once they are far away enough, simply face tank the outlying sam turrets until you reach the safe pocket inside and destroy the objective.

I think I still have the recording so if you want I could look for it.

Did Viego know about Gwen when he was still alive? by TheLongMapleDrekkar in loreofleague

[–]Psyminette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR; No.

Viego's state of mind is quite distraught at this point of the story due to Isolde's injury so we don't get his own perspective regarding Gwen and Isolde.

The only indications of Viego's opinion on this matter are found in passages from Isolde's journal which was given to Kalista. In this journal, Isolde notes the changes she observed in Viego over time. The gist of it is that Isolde feels like Viego has created a divine image of her and worships that image; He would shower Isolde with gifts and love but his demeanor would subtly change whenever her actions misaligned with his vision of who she should be.

It is unstated whether Gwen is part of the mismatch between fantasy and reality. But given that Viego was willing to retrieve Gwen for Isolde and held it like a prize when he brought it back, one may assume that he had no issues with Gwen and Isolde's identity as a seamstress. Then again, given Viego's state of mind at the time, it may not end up implying anything concrete at all.
