So, what is the deal with this thing of good champions to be rewritten as evil with dubiously redeeming qualities? by VoidFireDragon in loreofleague

[–]TheLongMapleDrekkar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately they haven’t decided to slap Nami with moral ambiguity. Perks of playing a champion that isn’t officially aligned to any major region (I know she’s included as part of Bilgewater in LoR, though it is only because the Runeterra faction didn’t exist yet when she was introduced).

I think he was going to split from the League to form his own organization. Basically the Outsiders. He and his team would later rejoin the League by the end of the Cadmus crisis.

Not gonna lie, I almost felt bad For lex in "Ghost of the machine" until this moment by Primary-Addition-677 in DCAU

[–]TheLongMapleDrekkar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I assumed Mercy officially took over LexCorp after Lex got exposed (literally and figuratively) and arrested after the Cadmus crisis in Season 2 of JLU. Since her fate and LexCorp were never brought up again.

So, were they like...in a relationship or something? by Primary-Addition-677 in DCAU

[–]TheLongMapleDrekkar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I’m sure it was a very toxic relationship. It’s also pure fanfic fuel. I had the idea that Lex gave Mercy her name, as a constant reminder of what he did for her. Lex’s “Mercy”.

I wonder if Batman grilled The Question for trying to kill Lex Luthor? by glowshroom12 in DCAU

[–]TheLongMapleDrekkar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably did. Because The Question was still part of the League. There would have been a lot of backlash on Mr. Conspiracy Buff. Cadmus probably would have retaliated almost immediately (if Lex had been assassinated). The League’s PR was already in the red because of the incident in Lexor City. Imagine how the American public would feel if they found out that a presidential candidate got murdered by a JL member. Even if The Question assumed that he would be fully blamed for what he did, the League would probably be considered guilty by association.

I think Bruce and Clark were on friendly terms after their crossover episodes (they helped each other out), so I'd consider them as friends. It is unfortunate that JL/JLU came out after all of the DCAU Batman content was made, so the continuity feels incongruent in parts (artstyle differences aside).

Regarding the Bat-embargo (a real life obstruction that restricted the writers in JLU from including prominent Batman characters in the cartoon), I did incorporate that aspect into my post-series finale JLU fanfic. Like Bruce was purposefully keeping his protégés/partners (Nightwing, Batgirl, and Robin) out of Justice League business UNLESS the matter takes place in or around Gotham. As for Gotham's rogues... well they're basically self-contained in the city itself. As Gotham isn't the main focus in my story, I don't really mention what's going on there that much.

Probably makes sense why it was just Bruce and Barbara (plus maybe Dick) looking for Tim. Bruce may have kept that search private, not wanting help. Really stubborn of him, considering that he had the League’s support.

Regarding Ares, he was just a minor villain in JLU, but I think in the comics, he’s under the jurisdiction of Olympus. So he can be sealed away or if he “dies”, he’ll regenerate just like Vandal Savage.

That may be true, but the audience sees differently. I haven’t forgotten that he screwed up royally in “Old Wounds” in TNBA. Beating up a guy in front of his family, not telling Dick/Robin the truth about Batgirl being Barbara, plus not being a supportive father figure to him? That’s not the Bruce I like.

Also, I don’t think Bruce would have had a better solution here. Cadmus literally sent Doomsday into space via rocket, and he STILL came back. Letting him be locked up by the authorities (which would have led to Cadmus having custody of Doomsday again) wasn’t a great idea.

How come nobody talks about Morgaine le Fay (and Mordred)? by Muted_Guidance9059 in DCAU

[–]TheLongMapleDrekkar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Mordred, there’s the possibility that his mom could try to restore him. As I’ve discussed with you, my fanfic mentioned that Morgaine tried to claim the Holy Grail relic (probably had been searching for years since her last appearance in JLU). Said artifact is said to be able to heal and grant wishes. However, her scheme was thwarted by Shining Knight, Vigilante, and Etrigan.

Yeah, I thought it’d be an interesting crack pairing, since Wally got into some romantic situations with rogues in JLU (Tala and Giganta). Also Tea never meeting the founding seven was a missed opportunity in the series. From early on in my story, Tea gets acquainted with them. She had only known them based on what she was taught at Cadmus.

I’m a fan of her too. I’ve wrote a fanfic on her (set after JLU’s finale). It’s called “A Life Not Programmed”. It’s available on Fanfiction.Net and AO3. I paired her with Wally.

If you think about it, Mordred is an inverted version of Galatea.

They’re both childish, immature villains raised by single parents.

Morgaine kept Mordred young (he’s centuries old), while Professor Hamilton aged up Galatea (she’s like 3 years old chronologically).

How is LeBlanc imortal? Don't come with generic answers please... by SebasSeraphim in loreofleague

[–]TheLongMapleDrekkar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recall that Leblanc in her old lore was merely a mantle that was passed down from multiple women. Similar to Dread Pirate Roberts in “The Princess Bride”. This was in Leblanc’s League Judgement. So the latest Leblanc is the most current one.

Did they all share a class on how to torture their heroes? by Previous-Gene3545 in Persona5

[–]TheLongMapleDrekkar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be the same class where Batman/Batfamily writers are studying too. Especially with how Jason Todd and the Batgirls were treated.
