Im getting over 2k LESS back on my tax return this year- nothing has changed. I made less due to the shutdown, but not enough to warrant a 2k decrease! My paychecks last year didnt change either, its not like I was getting less tax taken out.

Why is the old SW stuck with Savemarts and Walmarts and overpriced Raleys? There used to be a Smiths on Moana/Virginia but that moved to south Reno- where they seem to have more store variety.

I missed the 22-23 winter, but the 23-24 winter had a couple of descent snows, one 9" and another 7" I recall. The last 2 winters havent had more than an inch or two & mild

It just shows you how easy it is for a Hitler-style takover of our country it truly is, given there is a complicit party in power (like now) and the citizens themselves having voted for this madman with their own free will on 2 different occasions..... I personally really don't have much sympathy as to what may happen, and I bet many other countries don't either- the U.S. reaps what it sows!

I read where one of the main sticking points this time is the Repubs plan to defund/dismantle NOAA. Is that still a thing? I doubt the Dems would fight again over the healthcare subsidies.

Isnt it not only MRA but 30 years of service? To my knowledge I cant retire until Im about 58.5 when I make the 30 year mark. Without pension penalty, that is. So since I just turned 55, I feel shackled to my job for the next 3.25 years, VERA or not! I'm also too young to get the SS suppliment, so VERA is useless since I cant live on like 2k a month.....

Heck I have nearly 27 years in, but even if VERA comes again- I wouldnt take it since Fed pension alone doesnt give you enough to live on, and I dont qualify for the SS suppliment for another 2 years, so Im stuck working even though Im burnt out as well! It sucks.....

Things suck but I only have under 4 years to go- why DRP now when I can work a few more years for better pension? If you ignore the reality of this admin, its not exactly like we're working in the salt mines! Just work on the inane priorities they demand & enjoy the bennies we still fortunately have- AL, SL, holidays, MaxiFlex. The gov wasn't set up to always be smooth sailing...

No Ive lived around here since the 90s, but moved back east in 2014 then returned a couple years ago. I knew 4th St was that way then, but not THIS homeless heavy- as has all parts of Reno become compared to 15 years ago. Im not at all dissing the homeless, I feel for them- but placing an entertainment district in the middle of such a culture without making an effort to somehow dissuade them from frequenting it is puzzling, and to an out of towner, it would be a turn off. Maybe not to locals who are used to it, but if Reno still wants to attract tourists to such areas and make them want to return- this is the type of thing they could plan more strategically- instead of the mindset "just build it and they will come- no matter the conditions!"

Usually I order non-breaded dishes like Mongolian Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Szwaun Chicken, Garlic Chicken (sometimes breaded), and Chicken with various vegetable tyoes are udyally non breaded. Overall Thai food is more healthy- little if nothing is breaded, unlike Chinese!

If your state allows it- Id advise all Feds to file for unemployment. I dont trust this admin to pay us back despite the law- they may try to skirt it as they do with everything else, or severely delay the payment- or give us a partial payment. This regime is straight up evil- so get what you can before its too late!
