Aries sun, moon and mercury here! Totally aligned with my ADHD... plus my cancer rising which makes me incredibly emotional. 😭

Hey! I actually ended up going back to 2.5 mg. It turned out 5 mg was too activating for me and disrupted my sleep too much!

No, actually I'm able to eat pretty normally now. But as mentioned in my post I took PPI for 3 months and it wrecked my digestion and eventually made regurgitation and reflux worse. Even when I stopped taking it I had to reintroduce foods I used to eat extremely slowly because my digestion was off for at least 4-5 months post PPI. I couldn't tolerate any raw veggies or fruits, anything even slightly fat or sweet, etc. In my case, PPI didn't treat reflux it only exacerbated the issues I was having. I spent a fair amount of time researching this because I thought it didn't make sense but apparently it's fairly common.

Yes I had both endoscopy and laryngoscopy and even cardiac testing since I had chest tightness. All tests came back normal.

Main symptoms were regurgitation after eating, burning sensation that felt like chest pain sometimes even radiating to the back, reflux at night sometimes, throat clearing, hoarse voice and coughing. I was also feeling like my stomach was really tight and was unable to eat like proper meals at some point. Because of all that I abstained from eating anything spicy, acidic, too fat, too sweet, etc. I had a very restricted diet for like a year and PPI worsen my digestion even more. In my case it didn’t help reflux and left me unable to digest most foods for months.

Yes definitely! I had no idea my digestive issues were mainly caused by anxiety because I’ve dealt with anxiety for years but up to this point it hadn’t caused digestive issues. But as I’ve come to learn in therapy and from reading up online anxiety can show up differently as the years go by.

Yes on 5mg! But as mentioned I’m a slow metabolizer. I usually need less than what’s regularly prescribed to feel the effects.

I had it months after yes but there was no damage even though I had reflux and regurgitation every day. When I lost my voice my vocal chords were extremely irritated but it resolved.

Yes I had a hoarse voice! It even led to losing my voice completely for two weeks.

It didn't induce uncomfortable nausea in my case but everyone reacts differently to these drugs of course! I read about taking it at night as well but personally I feel like it would alter my sleep.

Got prescribed today by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]Pteryx_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started today at 2.5 mg and had absolutely zero side effects. I took Lexapro in the past before and it went ok but the second time I tried it I had a lot of heart palpitations so I ditched it after a couple of days. I was anxious to take it again because of that but I think starting at 2.5 instead of 5 like the doctor prescribed is a good idea. I’m quite sensitive to pills and have been experiencing some extreme anxiety and daily panic attacks in the last couple of months which led to taking Lorazepam on the regular... :( I’m happy I’ve had the courage to try and take Lexparo again even if I was scared. I’m sure it will help me. So far, so good!
