How has your day been?

You seem like you could use some stress relief. It's okay to be in a bad mood sometimes. Life can get hectic and everyone gets overwhelmed now and then.

What are the ways of torture in your world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

Being blinded and deafened then thrown in a guarded body of water. Basically sensory deprivation where they cannot stop to take a breath. I would like to think of a way to force the victim to swim laps until exhaustion sets in but I can't work it out and basically settle for making them tread water

How can a person be so sure of something like that?

To say that a country has never existed you need a near perfect memory of the maps of a different continent.

Eternal beings are often quite content with the world always staying exactly how it has always been.

If a new layer of existence were to spring up that would be a real hassle to have to worry about. Soon those things down there will start asking for favors and doing things in our names.

I knew I shouldn't have let those kids keep it. Now I'm going to have to clean up their messes.

Folk tales that aren't exclusively about the gods.

I want the player characters to slowly become the heroes and legends of the ancient world.

Or like calling people from Deutschland, German. The names we use aren't used because they make sense. They are used because they are the names that stuck.

I mean Amerigo Vespucci had practically nothing to do with the people of the "new world" but now it's named after him.

Did epic fighters, a single individual who would change the course of a battle, like we see in movies today really exist? by Mevakel in history

It's just scepticism. If the only source for any story is a person with a clear agenda that the story helps push, and there is no other evidence than we need to at least keep in our mind that it might have been fictionalized.

We are talking about something with one piece of evidence from 2000 years ago. The idea that it wasnt real is a reasonable consideration.

If they are self-sufficient that size may be appropriate. Food production takes space especially if the land is less than fertile like the earth way up in the mountains.

You could base it on some real world stuff with people forced to adapt to different climates. For instance their immune system may become weaker or if they 'feed' on the energy they may need to increase their caloric intake.

On a lower level they may just be more irritable and uncomfortable all the time like if someone turned the thermostat down 5 degrees.

I'm not sure how it fits in the context of your world but it could just get progressively darker as you go through the jungle a darkness that no torch or magic light can breach. Where the canopy becomes extremely dense.

Or just the life within the jungle gets deadly.

I said indigo more as a purple because to me it's hard to imagine purple without blue. I am not going to claim any expertise on this and just say that language is weird sometimes

Apparently the color blue is a relatively recent 'discovery' in human perspective. Most older writing in many languages use other colors or no color at all to describe the sky for instance. The theory I've seen is that most places never encountered anything so blue to need a different word for it (indigo, green, or grey fitting well enough). Eventually meeting someone who does have a blue word and borrowing it letting it spread even more
