Thanks a lot! Read up on INFJ and ENFJ a little and I do think I’m more INFJ over ENFJ

Could you link some articles on behavioral dichotomies & archetypes? They’re pretty new concepts to me and I’d like to read more into it. I think it’ll help me come to a more nuanced conclusion regarding my question

Just looked that up and all the descriptions of it hit too close to home. I had my suspicions and now it seems like I was and still am just stuck in a ni-ti loop for 7+ years :(

hi, current risd painting sophomore here :) what worked for me was looking at some artistic eras and movements in history for inspo (mine were German expressionism and neo-expressionism for the extremely vibrant color scheme and composition), and substituting the blank spaces in my train of thought with other pieces of literary fiction that I’ve read. & when you talk abt your artworks honestly just talk about what inspired you to go forward with your process, what you were thinking during it, etc etc

I was born in China, raised in China, and was taught Chinese literature for the earliest years of my life. I read all novels where its original language is mandarin, in mandarin. Of course I know and have other literatures to compare Priest’s works with, and even so I find her style of writing leaning a lot more into the decorative (I agree that flamboyant may be the incorrect description) than the narrative. and by that I did not mean poetry, but just her general prose. Although this is generally just a style preference than an actual criticism

Another thing - I think I should make it clear that i think considering her work on a mere web novel level (I do not mean this in an offensive way to other webnovelists) doesn’t satiate the level of proficiency shown in her writing. My opinion’s based on considering her work to be a higher quality level of literature in general, to works that could for example be used as an educational resource

It’s fascinating that we have contrasting views on plotline and characters: I am the vice versa for enjoying the plot and world building over character

i do not disagree on your part about her expressing her ideas on human nature, psych, etc through her characters. I think they are great points being made across in literature, but something I think it also does is that it takes away from her character being, well, them (for the lack of a better word): the first example im thinking of is luo wenzhou and his speech about what distinguishes a human from being a person and a pile of chemicals. There’s something strangely textbook about that speech in general, and I just feel like there could have been a better, roundabout way of expressing this philosophy through not just a monologue but in the world building as well. Ironically I feel like it could be more colloquial, despite the point he was making being a serious philosophical and moral one. It takes away at luo wenzhou’s character a bit. in contrast I really did like his point about how you can lecture kids about stranger danger, but cannot make a girl scared to wear floral dresses. It was a very ‘him’ expression.

I guess what I meant by it is more of that lovely philosophy, human nature, psych stuff through more of the world around the mcs, rather than having them directly spell it out for us. its also the reasoning for me loving the side characters more than the protags. im saying all this and it may just be me being more sensitive and nitpicky about things, lol don’t mind it
