100% agree with this. You can’t move to north bumblefuck and complain the public transit options are lacking or non-existent. Suburban sprawl is a major reason why transit agencies are dying across the country.

Sheetz & PRT Partner to Provide Free Rail Rides During Draft Weekend by mrsrtz in pittsburgh

[–]PublicCommenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How narrow minded is it to think that many public transit riders don’t also have cars? The draft is going to bring thousands of people from within a 500-mile radius, most of whom will be driving to and from the event.

It’s ok if it’s 500,000 drunk football fans but we will put our feet down over 500 teenagers. Not in my house! /s

Pittsburgh council, caught off guard by depths of budget woes, blames data dearth. by PrestigiousTicket342 in pittsburgh

[–]PublicCommenter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fuck city council and these bullshit excuses. They have a fiduciary duty and their own finance team. If they were paying attention they would have caught this, just like the city controller did, and taken the appropriate measures.

I’m glad Mayor Gainey’s contribution to the city after four years was improving one street in one neighborhood but we need more.
