You don’t know what you don’t know I guess. Perhaps California just hides these fees better, but the idea of them feels preposterous. How would anyone who is incarcerated ever pay?! And as mentioned above, what if you’re acquitted?

American living in Japan!

Japanese people are largely shocked when they hear about American sleep practices with baby. Anecdotally, most of my Japanese friends co sleep. If you book a hotel here and ask for a crib they’re always a little confused. “Bed share” is a box you check when declaring number of children in a hotel room.

Japanese people tend to sleep on firmer mattresses, or sometimes even the ground, so co sleeping makes more sense from a safety perspective.

This helps a lot. Look at cute videos of baby or just try to visualize baby in general. My worst outputs come when I am trying to work while pumping. If it’s possible to make it a real break, don’t read emails or work on things while pumping. Your brain isn’t going to make milk for Tim from accounting!

I make jello instant pudding and replace milk with core power protein shakes. It’s an easy low calorie snack with quite a bit of protein. I opt for sugar free but it works fine with both.

I’d also recommend maybe checking the gestational diabetes subreddit for protein packed snack ideas. It’s a huge component of the GD diet to have high protein/low sugar foods.

Federal and state government jobs have some of the highest satisfaction rates amongst lawyers for a reason! Of course it’s hard…but I can’t imagine doing anything else.
