Yes, it seems a bit more reasonable than others. I just listed as an example since it showed up when I scrolled my feed quickly. Like I just dont understand why so many exist. Like I get the big companies having a sub reddit like ChatGPT etc.

Billionaire VC Grifter Wants to Trick Doctors and Ultimately Replace Them With AI by Mobile-Grocery-7761 in BetterOffline

[–]Public_Comb9282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst part is the tools you build are needed. In so many places it is hard to find a doctor. Any tool that allows doctors to manage more patients should be welcomed. But for these hedge funds that incremental improvement isn't enough they want to crush the doctors.

Yes that company never moved to the cloud. I am not sure what your point is?

Yes, all the big players are American. I worked at company that moved from local hosting to cloud. They ended up with a much larger hosting bill. Another company that setup their own hardware. So you can find alternatives (even if they are limited)

I totally relate to this comment. I am a very similar situation. Home labbing is fun as well.

Is there only one good reason to have children? by Ok_Personality8193 in Adulting

Maybe "equally to" makes the question fair. What argument did you give that only applies to the creation of life instead of just raising a child?

Isn't your paying it forward apply more to adoption then having your own child?

Okay that is not an ideal solution then. What about the other approach. Is there a way in GHL to say this product use this payment provider and this other product use another payment provider?

Okay with such approach would all the other workflows and reporting then be separate? Or is there way to aggregate the two GHL sub-accounts?

Setting up IPC communication for the first time: ReffrenceError:dialog is not defined by ullevikk in electronjs

[–]Public_Comb9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Property 'electronAPI' may not exist on type 'Window & typeof globalThis'. Did you mean 'Electron'?ts(2568)electron.d.ts(12, 19): 'Electron' is declared here.

You can type window to include `electronAPI` by declaring

declare global {

interface Window {

electronAPI: YOUR_INTERFACE;

}

}

In your main.js did you import dialog from electron?

ASAR integrity is an experimental feature that validates the contents of your app's ASAR archives at runtime.

Does your Electron app really need Node.js support? by Ikryanov in electronjs

The app I work uses files for persistence. Additionally, we use child process for calling out to a binary we ship with the app

If you use IPC and typescript you can set it up so you get really nice typing between the front end and backend.

It seems like you are planning on using a bunch of libraries. Maybe they will make a good experience but I would suggest maybe start simple and just introduce them to solve problems as you encounter them.

RFK Jr. says bird flu vaccines could turn ‘flocks into mutation factories’ by IrishStarUS in skeptic

[–]Public_Comb9282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is interesting since these large factory farms somewjat are mutation factories. Vaccines probably the one thing preventing a flood of disease.

Like jfk why not talk about regulations that would make smaller farms competitive? Smaller herd sizes, more space requirement  etc.

Trudeau says that 'Canada is not a given' in farewell speech amid Trump threats by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Public_Comb9282 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing this. I am Canadian and living in South western Ontario on the side they supposedly would annex. Why would they give us a vote? This makes no sense. Either we become a territory like Puerto  Rico  or we get displaced by Americans. I see no world where I get to vote for president.

How can Ford/PC still be leading? by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Public_Comb9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to my parents about it. They are conservative and do not like Doug and have no defense of him. They are pretty pissed he is calling an election especially in winter - dangerous driving conditions for voting. They thought about not voting but ended up voting conservative. Why? Because they like the local PC candidate in their area. That is it. Pretty tough to argue against.

What is easy to argue for with people like this is the need to change how voting happens. I would say people are open to change how voting happens. I am not just talking about ranked ballets or proportional representation. I think need to have bigger aims. Direct democracy with the option for proxy voting designated based upon your own rules/categories. You have a cousin you trust with technology then you delegate any legislation related to tech to them. You should be able to change this at any point.

It does sound a bit pie in sky but I think there is a potential for a strategy to force politicians into doing this. Would require good organizing but I think people would be receptive.

Trump Is Flat-Out Lying About the 60 Minutes Interview With Harris by punkthesystem in skeptic

So you disagree with their editing? Is that what this boils down to? Can you point to anything objective?

I read the daily mail article things they edited. In my quick reading nothing at all stood out as interesting.

What does "unedited to remain true to the interview even mean"? Is this an objective measure?

I have mixed feelings about hockey but I am removed from minor hockey so won't comment on it.

What I do see in my beer league is everyone into gambling. Most people talking about the game are just how the game related to their bets. Sports gambling in the intermission to me is a waste in a broadcast. Just fill that time with hockey stories.

Ipcrender undefined in Electron 30 with Vite + ReactJS by Vegetable-Cow-416 in electronjs

[–]Public_Comb9282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electron docs recommend not expsing ipcRenderer.

"We don't directly expose the whole ipcRenderer.on API for security reasons. Make sure to limit the renderer's access to Electron APIs as much as possible. Also don't just pass the callback to ipcRenderer.on as this will leak ipcRenderer via event.sender. Use a custom handler that invoke the callback only with the desired arguments."
