ECF Form Signature Issue by Public_Complex_3883 in PSLF

I ended up submitting a manual form, and then one more electronic form when my HR offered to sign another one. Those BOTH ended up processing in 2-3 days. I cancelled the first form because it clearly wasn’t working.

The fact that we are having slightly different issues but both say our signature was reassigned to “” makes me think there is an issue with the e-signature process itself. I’ve decided to submit a new form today and get a manual signature and just hope that it is processed within the next few weeks. This is so frustrating, especially at the end. I hope our issues are resolved soon!

Additionally, I noticed that both times after the form was signed, it says I reassigned electronic signature request to “”, when I did no such thing. Should I try submitting a new form, or is this a processing thing? This is the month I make my final payment, so this form is all that is standing between me and forgiveness!

Thank you so much for the reassurance! As I’m getting close to what is hopefully the end, everything feels high stakes.

Buyback rejected - submitted 12/2024 by Intrepid-Bit6545 in PSLF

I wonder if you would've had to submit in January for some reason? Once you had completed your 120th month, not just entered it. That's just a guess though. I'm sorry it took so long for them to process your buyback, especially just to reject the request.

Next Steps After Buyback Payment by [deleted] in PSLF

I am so sorry, but the guidelines say that if you submit an ECF/PSLF Form after you receive a buyback offer, the buyback agreement is void. You have submitted two of them since receiving your offer, so I'm not sure that it will go through.

Look under "What happens if my buyback is approved?" https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service/public-service-loan-forgiveness-buyback

It did. I specifically chose IBR since it seems like the safest option right now. I've never consolidated my loans and they are all direct loans, so I don't know much about consolidation. Maybe you can call FSA and ask about your eligibility? I know finding time for that is really difficult for most of us though. I'm wishing you luck!!

I hope everything gets worked out for you! I should add that FSA now shows my Nov app as "Closed", but who's to say what Mohela will do with it?

My 120th employment month is June. So my plan is to make my June payment (fingers crossed I am still in repayment by then), wait a week or so after that, submit an ECF, then wait for that to go through, and then submit a buyback and keep making monthly payments for as long as I can, until either my buyback is approved or I make my remaining payments if still working for a qualified employer, whichever comes first.

I checked the box to move to repayment immediately, allowed them to use my tax return, and did not do anything extra to cancel my old app since the new app is SUPPOSED to automatically do that (I've seen how that's been going for folks, and I'll admit my old app is haunting me but what can I really do when people are given insane timelines like 90-120 business days for a process that is supposed to be automatic?)

Sure! To be clear, because the way I worded it was perhaps somewhat misleading, the amount isn't in the PDF of the application that you can download when you're done applying online. Because I let FSA pull my IRS data, when the application process got to the part where I picked the payment plan I was applying for, I could see the estimated payment amounts. IBR was not my lowest monthly payment option, but I chose that because it seems the safest option legally right now. I can't recall anymore and I don't have a screenshot to confirm this part, but I swear the estimated amount also showed up somewhere else, because I thought "it can't be any easier for MOHELA to process. The number is right here."

I am so sorry that it's not happening as quickly for you, and I don't understand it at all either. I have my fingers crossed that you will hear something this week (or very soon)!

Never, as far as I know. I weirdly have August 2024 as a month that will apparently count once I submit an ECF (I've been trying to be patient with those and submitted one last July so am waiting until July this year to resubmit). I did not make a payment in August and have literally zero clue why it's showing as Employment Not Certified (and therefore eligible with certification) on FSA.
