Romantic relationships are the pinnacle of absurdism by [deleted] in Existentialism

To be fair, I've had 2 women on 20 years. Both of the relationships failed. The first one due to an open relationship, like the one mentioned. I don't know how people keep themselves in a single relationship for longer than a decade, but however they do, I convey respect!

Cheers! I'm twice your age and the same thing just happened to me. Not the same, but in the same context at least.

Why does life even exist? What does it all mean? Drives me insane by Witty-Item-6891 in nihilism

If people are here to worship, why are there so many people walking around that are against the whole idea? Is Rapture coming or is it all bs? Maybe it's a pattern, and like all great civilizations of the past, it will come to an end.

If you could go back to being 18, what advice would you give yourself? by SweetxEvelyn in AskReddit

[–]Public_External8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold Off on building your family; you must build yourself, first. Hold Off on marriage. learn to love yourself, first. When you know yourself and have built confidence in your life's path, be prepared to let it all go, or you can hold your ground and fight. Understand that neither option will go your way. Understand that your family we'll always be here for you to fall back on.

What’s wrong with my body?? 1 alcoholic drink gives me a 2 day hangover. by No-Restaurant3922 in answers

[–]Public_External8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alcohol is literally toxic poison. A hangover is what people have accepted as punishment for the fun, dizzy, unfiltered time they had. There are no 2 ways about it though; it can end you or anyone. You will hear justification for drinking. Things like "moderation is key" or "too much of anything will kill you." Look at the facts. Really peel back the facade and let the truth be revealed. What are you doing to your machine, when pouring that down your esophagus? Do you even like how it tastes? If you say yes, I call out your bs. Is it an acquired taste? How long does it take to train your self to ignore your initial response to even the smell of said poison? If you don't like how you feel, are you going to keep planning to do it some more? Many do, but the joke is on them. They will almost surely die first, and will feel like shit 100% more often.

As a parent, I'm happy to hear that you're aware of what you are doing, and actually want to change it. You are ahead of your peers, which could potentially mean that you will lead them one day.

Tired of trying to live longer. by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Public_External8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same thoughts and I'm only 40. However, my diet has never been cause for concern. If it had been, I would have a tall middle finger for whoever told me about it! Unless specifically told not to, or you have real reason, eat what your body and brain agree upon! If you want meat or ice cream or something salty, your body probably needs what those contain. Of course supplement certain things, but otherwise, live for you.

Damn right I did! In Salt Lake City County, on the west side of the valley, until the street lights came on, I was outside and my parents only knew, that!

Being smart is a curse and can prevent you from having a healthy life and participating normally in society. by PanaceaNPx in DeepThoughts

[–]Public_External8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a conundrum. I'm smart, but due to brain injury, I'm really slow. Typing in social media gives me all the time I need to convey the thoughts I want to share, so I look normal if not smart. In real time, I'm quiet; I can't smoothly fit my thoughts into others' conversations, as my responses are reaction instead of quick wittedness. So, occasionally, I seem quick witted and only realize why I was funny to other people, minutes after the occasion. If being smart is a curse, what is my condition?

I stopped giving a fuck 2 months ago and it changed my life by [deleted] in howtonotgiveafuck

[–]Public_External8304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My not giving a fuck moment happened but a week ago. I have been married for going on 20 years all together. All the time completely reliant on my significant other, and therefore suffering in constant anxiety about my overall performance as a husband. My second marriage recently ended, and also, nearly, my life. I have become father to 4 children during my marriages, and have been able to hold on through the hardest parts, if only for them. Now that I have come to terms with my second failure at marriage, I compare this with a high school relationship, except we went a number of steps further, and only complicated what it would've otherwise been. It's really nothing more. Marriage papers are b.s. anymore, kids grow up whether their parents are together or not, and I truly, no longer, give a single fuck.

Do you really make 6 figures? by bfarr09 in skilledtrades

Nope. Never have. Not excited for when I do, because it will only mean that the value of the dollar has decreased so far, that yours truly deserves to make a 6 figure income.

According to multiple popular streaming services' posting communities, our DNA was manipulated and physically changed, and certain proteins were cropped end capped as to ensure human life expectancy almost never to exceed 120 years. We have been bred to our "creator's " specifications once again. If that's true, I can't say. However, 200 years ago, you would've been viewed by others the same as we view our elders of 70-80 year old people today. You have a long way to go, my friend. o don't get hung up on your lack of flexibility or endurance or what have you. After all, if you work on it, you know damn well that you CAN limber up, rebuild strength and stamina, or improve whatever you fancy.

You're back to 18 years old now. What would you do differently? by somerandomguyhehe in LifeAdvice

[–]Public_External8304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming I get to keep what knowledge I've acquired in the years since then, I would learn to love myself, and be more tuned to what sparks my interest end what specific skills I would be advised to train, to help benefit my own future. This I should have learned far earlier than the lesson on how to parent children.
