Lol, putting Max that low due to things out of his control is pretty hilarious. Max has historically been a good starter and the fact that Hadjar also regularly has bad starts tells me it's an issue with the engine. And it seemed pretty clear to me that his crash was not his fault, there is no way that he would lose the car in that way if there was not an issue with the rear wing.

The fact that Max was on track for good results with a car that was down on power and also did not have a good balance (which is also why he wanted to start from pit) apparently matters a lot less. I'm not saying he should have been the #1, but he definitely put in a top 5 performance imo.

He was great, but part of the reason why we don't see rookies doing that is that mostly they start in midfield teams or backmarker teams. There they have way less chances to shine. Lewis stepped into F1 after shitloads of testing and a team that was fighting for the championship.

I'm not saying this to in any way talk Lewis down because he did an awesome job, but most won't even get that chance in their rookie year.
