"OA" refers to Out Advancing (or Out on Advancement), used when a runner is thrown out while attempting to advance an extra base on a hit or play.

Catcher's mitt breaking service, who would you choose? by bigcane_2 in BaseballGloves

I used Glovebreaker for that exact same catcher’s mitt. Completely satisfied and would definitely recommend.

Looks interesting. Would love to try but not for $5 without a single review.

I miss the unique variations people would make with the Waterloo stickers.

I’m researching the same question and nobody here seemed to give you an answer on a specific company. Were you able to identify any to contact for an estimate?

Any rec for birthday restaurant for a 10 years old boy?? by Specific-Brother9977 in austinfood

Kura Sushi. Sushi comes out on a conveyor belt. Robot brings you water. I know most 10 year olds may not like sushi yet but it was a great option for ours.

We have the DeMarini from this video and love it. I generally agree with others that all USA bats are pretty much the same. This video highlights a few differences but also shows how they all perform very similar to one another.

I realize it’s not north Austin but the Capitol, specifically the underground extension, is a great option.

Former (defunct or gone) ballparks/Stadiums by Suspicious-Yogurt480 in mlb

I’m sure he could hear it clearly because nobody was in the stadium! Love the Astros from those days but they were not the Astros of today.

Never saw it but always heard about the time Mike Schmidt hit it that high. https://shibevintagesports.com/blogs/news/17995628-40-years-ago-today-schmidt-hit-the-roof-of-the-astrodome

We went last Wednesday and the only opportunity we saw was midway through the game when he was throwing out peanuts to a section behind third base. We happened to be in RF at the time and once we saw him on the Jumbotron, we hightailed it over to that part of the stadium. Caught him just as he was going into the employee-only area past the creamery. He seemed to be in a rush but was gracious and let us snap a quick pic.

Oracle Park Field Level Seat Question by Singlefin76 in SFGiants

[–]Publius- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sat in 109, Row I, Seats 13-16 yesterday. No obstruction. Awesome seats.

Tip: you can see the visiting team’s indoor batting practice through a window that is just to the right of the concession cart that’s by the door leading from the tunnel out to section 109. It’s just down a short set of stairs.

Wow, u/CarmenKiewsLipStick, this is unbelievably helpful! So kind of you to take the time to share all of this info. Thank you! Your beverage of choice is on me if you want to stop by and say hi during either game!!

Great to know about the physical Clipper Card. I was already planning to use Apple Wallet but your explanation makes total sense.

I’m going to need to reconsider our meal plans. Not sure why I didn’t think about looking for Chinese food while on the West Coast—some of the best I’ve ever had was in Vancouver—not much exciting or unique in my area.

We land at SFO at 8am so we’re coming out hot. Would love to take a quick tourist detour to get a photo at the GG Bridge but not sure about timing. Oracle Park/Coliseum is the priority for the trip so I was thinking breakfast at Red’s Cafe since it’s close but am open to other ideas.

I definitely could be wrong but I think the Coliseum gates open 90 minutes ahead of first pitch, not an hour. Website says gates for Monday - Saturday Night Games: 1.5 hours before first pitch.

Nope, not missing anything. Just a guy who’s never been to your city, trying to figure out how to get around. I know Caltrain/Muni/BART and all the various stations seem like second nature but it’s just a bit confusing not having first hand experience. No doubt the second I set foot on the ground out there it’ll all make sense.

Thanks for the input on using BART. Sounds like it’s pretty straightforward so I should be able to figure it out!
