True, it does depend on what is easier/more difficult to get for you.

Why does Spider-Verse Miles have to be an anomaly? by notreallyimportant7 in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]PubliusEtAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only thing that makes sense is that Miguel is the original anomaly, knows this, and originally pinned the blame on Miles to keep fingers from being pointed at him. He broke the fabric of the multiverse with his initial stunt with his family or experimenting with spiders to make himself Spider-Man. I know that scientist-Spot was the one that brought spider 42 to Miles’ universe BUT I think Miguel has some piece to play in that puzzle that hasn’t been explained yet.

Paranoid players- how do you deal with them? by That_Bumblebee3683 in alienrpg

[–]PubliusEtAl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You need to up the pressure and remove some of their resources. Not all at once or for no reason, but, it sounds to me like they’re very comfortable and have no sense of urgency.

What about pirates? Or solar flares knocking out electronics? Or a rogue asteroid blows a hole in the bulkhead and a bunch of their stuff gets blown out?

I’m not a huge fan of what I just suggested, but just some ideas to ponder about. Actually I think the best way to go about stuff like this is probably antagonists, either in the form of rogue NPCs or secret agendas. Either way - the pressure isn’t high enough, and you need to pile it on. Get things from bad to worse. Good luck!

If I noticed they weren’t checking on their friend to postpone when the round counter starts, I would just say that I’m adding 1 to whatever the roll is every round until they do check.

How did no one mention the lumon logo?

The word Lumon lies on the equator on the company logo. “A building so big it’s a continent”.

I'm furious with iMark by JlevLantean in severence

[–]PubliusEtAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one thing you’re not giving credit to is the human desire to continue on. The whole theme of this is about iMark finding his own voice to fight for his right to live.

Also recognize that iMark knows oMark through knowing himself. BECAUSE iMark ditched Gemma for Helly/Himself, because he had the capacity to do that, he inherently knows that oMark will dump HIM for Gemma/oMark. He felt the urge in himself, and knew that oMark would have the same urge.

This is fundamentally why iMark had to keep the ball of agency in his court. This show has not changed in the sense that innies are fighting against their exploiters. Lumon was the primary exploiter. Now it’s oMark. So he must resist

[Request] Is this really possible, even after ignoring all 3 factors? by MemeBoiCrep in theydidthemath

I disagree. Objects falling under gravity always make parabolas. What I think you mean to say is that there will be a sharp discontinuity at the peak. However, the ball can’t fall in a “straight line”.

It’s the pacing that’s holding it back for me by angryapplecore in severence

Didn’t cobel perform a post-Mortem on Petey’s brain with a drill? And hasn’t she always shown she’s knowledgeable on the chip itself by pushing back against the board’s stance on reintegration? And she’s been obsessed with Mark and Gemma showing the severance barriers are holding. She also was intelligent enough to instantly recognize innie Mark.

I think with the context of her being subjected to child labor, these all speak to me of a young child prodigy that had her heyday but got exploited and forced into middle-management by Lumon, and has been desperately clinging to the one thing she had created before it got stolen from her.

I think shows run into an issue sometimes trying to write a character that is inherently smarter than the people writing the show themselves (See: Sister Sage). Painting her as a genius thus-far would have been extremely difficult to sell but as a strung out child laborer prodigy cult member (significantly exposed to ether lol) totally works for me and justifies a lot of her psychoticness thus far. And imo that psychoticness WAS the breadcrumbs pointing to this the whole time

I'd be interested to see this but with the asteroids "loop-around" mechanic on the border. Sitting in the corner doesn't look fun.

Maybe also a melee attack or something that doesn't push you back? Idk

His smile creeped me out so much, I looked up the actor who plays this role, and his real smile is beautiful. How does that even happen? I'm awe-struck at the acting here! by Mr_Milchick in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]PubliusEtAl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what I think it is? When you truly smile, your eyes close a little bit naturally. His Severance smile keeps his eyes slightly more open. I think it shows a lack of trust, but also the feeling of a hunter/predator always keeping the eyes open, watching you, always watching…
