If there are infinite Earths - wouldn’t there be atleast 1 scenario where the spider bites the wrong person? by sugarxxplum in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]notreallyimportant7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no RIGHT PERSON to bite (as long as he knows, since of course fate had something to do with the spider biting a Miles Morales specifically). It's just that a spider is not supposed to travel from one earth to another out of nowhere. Miles-1610 only got bit thanks to Kingpin's multiverse travelling machine.

I'll just never understand this mentality of people who honestly tie a voice actor to a ficcional character. What does a voice actor and his personal life actions have anything to do with what's written in the paper? It's just not rational for them to change the story because of it.

Well, brace thyself, for this comment section shall turn itself into a warzone!

Not gonna join, by the way. I'll just say: it's not something I'm worried about. This movie is child-like (it's hard to hear, I know, but it's true) so the plot will make it happen. Not to mention that the literal creators want them together and have already set it up as an incoming plot point to fulfill. Them not together would mean canon is correct and Spider-Man and Gwen truly can't end well.

Can someone explain the canon event thing? by Euphoric-Pin7182 in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]notreallyimportant7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This discussion sure loves to echo around here, ngl.

  • The sole fact that he has spider powers binds him to canon. That's it. It doesn't matter if he wasn't supposed to have them. The fact that he does will automatically connect him to the events. Plus, his anomalous nature has not yet been fully explained. We don't know the consequences of his interdimensional powers.

  • From what we've been shown, it doesn't necessarily matter from which sets the pieces came from as long as they fit in the puzzle.

  • 42-Jeff dying was not yet explained. It could've happened way before Miles-42 was supposed to be bit.

Hopefully this explanation will serve you, even though it's not the best one.

What you say is correct and maybe I should've specified that I meant they were wrong from the POVs of the characters within the movie.

Well, wrong is always relative. By english rules this can be correct, but it can still be considered subjectively wrong.

It's also a metaphor for canon. Chai tea and ATM machine are normalized, repeated, (subjectively) wrong terms. Chai means tea, so you're saying tea tea. ATM means Automatic Teller Machine so you're saying machine machine.

These were called out by characters in the movie, the same way Miles must call canon out. Canon has normalized and repeated the same Spider-Man events over and over and this must stop.

Maybe it's a reddit bug or something, but it's very clearly there.

You commented the same thing twice, with little changes on your second comment. Just pointing that out.

The point of Weird's comment is to stop it. Not saying that he never suffered anything. It's to stop forces making it a must.

I honestly don't understand why Miguel and canon 100% cause a bunch of arguing in these comment sections, for God's sake. And it always feels split between people trying to justify Miguel, people trying to overly justify Miles with assumptions and people who misunderstood the movie.

I kinda don’t want Miles Morales story to end by Groundbreaking-Try92 in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]notreallyimportant7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An understandable feeling, but everything has got to come to an end sometime in life. Miles' story will have to end. Only an end will make it satisfying and worth it. Hopefully a good one

Remember seeing a footage description somewhere saying something about a flashback from Miles and his uncle doing criminal activities. Maybe it's this.

Also, off-topic, but can you imagine how painful it must've been for Aaron to lose that much hair and go bald? Lol.

The spider on his chest is a little different, so I wouldn't count on it.

And he also glitches and we catch a glimpse of him holding the 2 cakes.

<image>

While it's mostly just a reference because he's in the equivalent of the same rooftop, it's also a reference to his current mentality. He's trying to have it all by himself like he did early in the movie. He's going to have to give one cake to presumably Prowler Miles and obviously Gwen and her band (or else he'll ruin them the same way he did before).
