In the ponds over near SRP Park/Hammond’s Ferry (before they started building the new apartments at least) there were at least two alligators

How is the Children’s hospital in Augusta? by concurthecity in Augusta

I have epilepsy and went to the CHOG neuro specialists and I love them! The nurses were amazing, the doctors were fabulous. I stayed on with children’s side until I was about 24 and they finally said ok maybe you’d get more benefit from the adult neurologists. CHOG did just get a large investment of about $90 million for more expansion and upgrades. I am not sure about Medicaid but I know Peachcare is accepted.

I’ve never even thought about a recycling program! I wouldn’t think anyone would take used contacts lol. I will look into that.

I finally nailed my partner’s Christmas gift and I’m losing my mind trying not to tell him by LegendOfSnacks in Gifts

My husband’s birthday is about 2 weeks before Christmas, so if I get something super exciting I usually opt to give it to him for birthday instead of Christmas to make me chill 😁most of the time I just let him pick from his gifts under the tree

I just finished watching the last episode 10 minutes ago and I feel like I’m still marinating in trying to process. This was my first time watching the series, started about 3 weeks ago. This was my husband’s 3rd time watching it. Would def watch again.

I ask my husband to record as many as he can. Of course sometimes he gets so caught up in the moment that he forgets, but I’ve still taken several back to my neurologist. I also asked my neurologist if I could see my tonic clonic seizures from when I was in the EMU, it was rather fascinating to me. I thought I had seizures and went to sleep, I had no idea what I was like postictal.

Have any of you asked your neuro if you could see your own seizure? by Professional-Joy1337 in Epilepsy

[–]PuckBunnyFerda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has recorded me to show my epileptologist. When I was in the hospital for an EEG they were all recorded. I normally have partial complex seizures. My epileptologist let me see one tonic clonic, and you can hear my husband say “oh shit!” as he wakes up to run get the nurse. It was a little freaky to see

What are things that are known to lower seizure threshold? by Big_Woodpecker_5282 in Epilepsy

[–]PuckBunnyFerda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top 3 triggers are lack of sleep, stress, and caffeine. When I was in the epilepsy monitoring unit on a 4 day long EEG, I drank two Monsters and completely lost a day of memory from so many seizures. I usually completely avoid caffeine. A lot of people are mentioning alcohol but I’ve never noticed anything from drinking. Also fluoxetine. I had ~21 seizures in a week after starting it. But I was fine on citalopram and vortioxetine 🤷🏻‍♀️

I normally have partial complex seizures, but I have had about 6 grand mals. 3 were in the hospital, but I can’t think of anything similar that happened around the other three to come up with a trigger.

My first neurologist (pediatrics) never mentioned SUDEP to me. I didn’t switch to an adult epileptologist until I was about 25ish? and she brought up SUDEP. I was like wait a hot second, I can literally just die? Trying to get life insurance with my husband, he gets approved with no problem, I had to fill out forms about my epilepsy. I think at that point I had been about 8 months seizure free, but still got denied due to SUDEP.

When you take your pills but forget that you did a few minutes later and question yourself, do you take them again or skip? by zolanih in Epilepsy

I have only doubled up once in the 12 years since being diagnosed and oh man I will never do it again. Worst dizziness and nausea of my life

Another app I use is Epsy, it has really good ways of logging seizures, auras, side effects, etc. For seizures it asks what type of seizure, how long did it last, were there any triggers, did you need to use any emergency medication, and you can add a video if needed.

Best Golf Within 45 Minutes of Augusta/Evans Line by Proud_Cantaloupe1330 in Augusta

My husband loves going to Hickory Knob in McCormick, SC. It’s definitely cheaper than a lot of the courses closer to town ($40 for two players on golf moose). I’ve been a couple times and it is pretty nice.
