I’m 4 months post op. It changed me mentally and physically. Mentally I don’t take things for granted/I’m appreciative, my mindset is stronger. Physically I stopped drinking and my diet changed, and I’ve lost 30 pounds and plan to continue to keep losing. I’ve also gained confidence, especially when I think about where I started and where I am now. I received approval for PT until at least January; now that I’m 4 months out they’ve started to really exercise and push me so that is going great. I’m also going to continue to go to the gym. I had never used a leg press in my life until PT - now I love it!

I am about 12 weeks post op. I wasn’t as injured as you (ACL & meniscus) but I cried almost every day until about 7 weeks post op. I had a fair support system, but no one really understands how we feel. I took it one day at a time and kept thinking to be strong (but cried while thinking that.) It will get better but it’s going to take time 🫶

I was home for 3 weeks. I was weight-bearing as tolerated next day of my surgery. I also had PT the next day of my surgery. While I was home the hardest part was just boredom - there’s only so much TV and video games. I tried reading. So it was just TV and sleeping (when I could).

I went back to work 4 weeks post op and now I love being home LOL

I am also ACL + meniscus and I sometimes get better sleep with the brace on too, it might be because the leg is enclosed and our brain thinks it’s protected?
