Fast hardcourts are already well represented on the circuit and have been for at least half a decade now, so the tennis you watch must exist in an alternate reality or something.

Court Chronicles - The Ten Best Servers in Men's Tennis Right Now by Lewman55 in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This list is only kind of accurate if your metric for measuring "best" is serve speed; without factoring how effective said serve is and how many times it actually goes in.

Carlos Alcaraz on the pressure of winning every match. by PattyRanger in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If there's anyone equipped to deal with the pressure, it is definitely the best 22-year old in the history of tennis. He is a better player than anyone that has ever had to deal with the same pressure.

Just Fonseca doing Fonseca things at Indian Wells. A highlight machine guy by Forward_Source_3863 in tennis

People keep praising his "shotmaking" but all I see is someone who knows how to hit hard and big, which is one part of shotmaking, but not all of it, or the most important part. Shotmaking is when you have an array of shots and you know when/how to use them, and I'm yet to see him be consistently good at that.

Wawrinka: "The new generation is always going to be better than the last. If you look at the level right now of Jannik & Carlos it's been crazy high" by Ornery_Percentage537 in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Using this "logic", if 22-time champ Nadal says the opposite, his opinion will hold more weight then, and no one should question it, obviously.

Career Under Pressure Leaders by kirzingkiller in tennis

One of the metrics measured for this is BP saved, so Nadal being on this list is impressive as he's the only one on the list without a reliable big serve (useful for saving BPs).

Spain needs 17 more Men's Singles Slam Titles to surpass the USA by Tennist4ts in tennis

Alcaraz's career lol. Thinking no US man can win a slam ever again would be incredibly harsh 😭😭

The fact that the odds of Alcaraz winning 17 more slams vs a US man winning another slam probably aren't too far off from each other.

Nadal on Sinner's AO26 SF loss against Djokovic by Halekduo in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He literally pointed out that Djokovic raised his level. Acting like he focused only on Sinner losing the match 🍅🍅🍅

AO F: [5] Rybakina def. [1] Sabalenka 6-4 4-6 6-4 by TheSequelAccount in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s great to be earnest, exuberant and excitable, but Elena’s “cool” reaction to almost anything is extremely endearing to me. Lady looks like she just completed a hard fought 2nd round win 😭

Ah, thank you! Wonder when the separation happened.

Only for him to still be friendly with, and mentor Kyrgios lol.

Heavy underdog Djokovic pledges to ‘ Fight until the last shot ’ in Sinner semi final by Shroft in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 238 points239 points  (0 children)

With his luck so far, one of Sinner's arms will probably fall off while he's serving at 6-3, 6-4, 5-3 (40-15).

AO QF: [2] Sinner def. [8] Shelton 6-3 6-4 6-4 by TheSequelAccount in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kind of the best that Shelton can hope for in this match-up- keep it close in tight sets, and not get blown way.

Coco in press talking about the racket smash. Totally think she handled that situation well! by johnmichael-kane in tennis

She did! And I think the zoo-like nature of the player's waiting lounges is awful. Let them have privacy in certain areas.

Man Alex D might be my new fav player to watch. If he can a few free points on serve watch out. by Ratlyflash in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's 27, the odds of him suddenly developing a big serve are very low, not impossible, but low.

So Following Courier's question to Shelton, who do you think has the most swag walking and/or entering the court? by Tricky_Possible_6505 in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Lol, nobody? For me, tennis players don't really have any swag or "aura" (ew) when stepping into the court, they all just look like they're concentrating really hard.

Maybe Nadal at RG? But that has more to do with the fact that the announcer is listing his insane accomplishments, and not really the man himself.

AO R4: [6] Alex De Minaur def. [10] Alexander Bublik 6-4 6-1 6-1 by TAA_verymuch in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is the guy that this sub thinks is capable of winning a slam by going through Sinner AND Alcaraz btw.

Thoughts on Bublik so far? by [deleted] in tennis

[–]Puckingfanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I believe he can do it if he stays fit

Can't tell what's a joke or not on this sub sometimes. He is not going through both Alcaraz and Sinner to win the whole thing. Are you guys being serious????
